Yes 2 ferrari teams. It will be pretty funny this year if ferrari start with the engine advantage then lose it too the loophole they discovered with homogulation dates.

Let's also hope that some teams are ready to run a third car. I have been reading about FIs struggles the past few days and have a bad feeling.

Too many people want only their way in areas detrimental to the sport. Compound that enough...and you get a serious blow from a series of seemingly minor events.

Then there's dumb ass Bernie....too much to list.

Yeah I'm pretty sure they won't be back...running a 2014 car and motor sounds like a terrible idea. I think they also owe ferrari a lot of money.

I hope Marussia does find a way to be back on the grid. Just don't see how they'll be competitive with only what a month and a half to prepare. Then again Force India dosen't look to be in a good situation as well.

Did Vettel pry anyone from Red Bull to come with him to Ferrari?

Mclaren is the benefactor of a redbull aero designer...I don't believe ferrari got any meaningful RBR guys.

This season had the potential to be one of the top seasons by far. McLaren/honda with alonso and JB, ferrari/vettel, merc and their drama between drivers, williams in the mix, crashtor wrecking left and right, RBR with a young cast and quick chassis, and toro rosso and the 17 year old.

I can see this being a 2010 season where you had Ferrari, Red Bull and McLaren battling for the Championship. Now add Mercedes and Williams, it could be interesting.

caterham is done. assets to be auctioned.

marussia hit a dead end. during the F1 strategy group meeting, it was ruled marussia would not be allowed to use 2014 car. (fucking dicks)

As announced by F1-insider.com, was today rejected the application of Marussia in a meeting of the strategy group in London to drive in the current Formula 1 season with the old car. Already at the beginning of the meeting had FOM boss Bernie Ecclestone noted that Marussia do not have the right to make such a request at all. But ultimately, the teams should decide. They did.

F1-insider.com learned: Mercedes and Ferrari were for a start of Marussia. The promise but failed then the veto of Force India vice team principal Bob Fernley. A dissenting voice was enough to ward off the unusual request.

But not only Force India was against it: From Red Bull sources was before the vote refusal to hear. Reason: Safety and image dimensions. Therefore also Lotus, Sauber and Toro Rosso would have been against the participation of a one year old Marussias, if the application would survive the strategy group and enters the F1 Commission.

In terms of Power Unit concept, however, has given no innovations. On the contrary, by the end of 2016, the current 1.6-liter V6 turbo-hybrid engines will definitely endure. After that one will see. But the teams want 2016 more aerodynamic freedoms, wider chassis and wider tires. A source said: “As a result, the cars will not only be more aggressive to drive but also look again more aggressive.”

i think its damn near le man's dangerous to have a 2014 marussia on the field next year. I heard it labeled a moving chicane somewhere.

As long as it meets the 107% rule or whatever it has now then it should be okay.

Heck why not let them race it. They likely wont get points this year, well except if they get lucky at Monaco.

i was hoping they would be allowed to run but at the same time i really didn't see a point.

they are severely hampered after losing much of their assets. how much of their staff would get paid? what about vendors? with no caterham in the mix, surely they would finish last.

i feel like they were just trying to throw a car in the mix to get their 9th place $40M this year. then hoping they would pick up 10th place $ by default this year.
