Thankfully the all star break is coming up along with two days off this week. That and we are playing Arizona and San Diego, not exactly great teams.

Feliz cleared waivers and has declared as a free agent. I guess that issue is settled now. Hopefully we don't try converting any more closers into starters for a while.

We start a 3 game series with the Padres tonight. A team that just used a catcher in the leadoff spot. Shields is the only decent pitcher they have and he faces Colby tomorrow. I think we'll break the losing streak tonight.

Also their GM is about ready to blow the team up, I'm kind of hoping AJ and JD get together this weekend and make some moves. We need a big right handed bat and they have two of them.

I got to watch the home run derby last night. It was actually pretty dang good. I didn't think Frazier was going to top Princes 13, but he damn sure did.

The addition of a clock and head to head matchups was nice. It sped it all up and forced more strategy

I was there for the beatdown Saturday and Sunday. The next game I go to is vs. the Yanks. Hopefully the Rangers can get motivated for that one and win! I'm ready to send Hamilton to A ball and watch Gallo at the plate instead.

He's about 45 at bats away from losing his rookie status. Unless Beltre goes down again I don't think we'll see him until the rosters expand. He'd be eligible for the ROY award which would mean a bonus for him but more importantly it delays his eligibility for salary arbitration another season. He'll probably get a contract extension before then but just in case. He got a decent signing bonus but otherwise makes the league minimum.
