  • Call me crazy but Michael Young and Pudge are both on the Ranger's payroll already. Both had very long careers and are well above average hitters. Surely they'd have something to offer.

Magadan gets a lot of credit for what he did in Boston but when you have Manny Ramirez, David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia and Jacoby Ellsbury in their prime I'm not sure how much he really did for them.

That's how I felt when people talked about how good a manager Washington was

Young doesn't seem to have any interest in day-to-day baseball yet, seems pretty content to hang around the ballpark when he wants and head home to his kids and I can't really blame him.

Not sure about Pudge, but the risk with either of those guys is that they would suck and then letting them go would turn a nice situation into an awkward one.

Still, if there's a guy whose swing you want to start infecting your lineup, it's Michael Young.

        • Hey, that's two in a row. They win tomorrow, and that's called a winning streak. It has been done before.

          • Didn't catch the game tonight but where the fuck did this Blanks kid come from?!?!? Looks like he was "4A" player in the SD system considering he never played more than 80 games a season. I know its a small sample size but maybe he can turn things around here like Chris Davis did in Baltimore? Big mofo too. 6-6 265 sheesh! Maybe he can be an end rusher for the Cowboys if Gregory and Hardy shit the bed.

He was a free agent pickup along with Carlos Peguero, who is 6'5 260. Fans have been complaining about a lack of power so JD invited the two biggest and strongest guys he could find to spring training and they haven't completely sucked.

Imagine a lineup with Fielder, Gallo, Hamilton and those two guys. They'd make a pretty solid defensive line.

                • Leave it to the Astros to dig the Rangers out of a slump.

                            • So it looks like Odor is heading to AAA, mlb pitchers have obviously figured him out. It's not like Rosales is hitting any better but I guess they want to make sure Odor doesn't stay in his funk.

Deshields might be starting a few games at second now. They'll need to do something with him since we have 4 outfielders already plus Hamilton and Moreland. He was a rule 5 pickup so he has to stay on the roster all year or he heads back to Houston.

Roogie should be fine, right move to sendh him down, though.

If I didn't know any better, I'd think this was a team that actually wants to win. Unfortunately, all of this work has only gotten them back to 14-18 and the Astros are still 800 games up despite a pretty mediocre two weeks.
