I saw elsewhere that Brandan Wright and a first round pick are being offered.

I like our team as constructed. I'm not sure why we'd jack with the chemistry at the moment. This isn't Rondo of a few years ago.

Rondo would be a fine addition as long as they use him as a bench player.

id take monta over rondo. monta works well in the offense and runs it very good. why screw with it?

Jameer Nelson and Felton are basically backups at this point. The west is stacked with point guards and the Mavs are some of the worst. Is Rondo the answer? Hell if i know but if he plays any defense and will feed the ball to the other 4 it would be ok.
But damn i hate to lose Wright. The Mavs will have no size and if Tyson goes down they are royally screwed. They literally have no one behind him.

Monte is not a point guard. He is a shooting guard who plays opposite Nelson and Barea. Harris is a point but in Carlisles system he plays more off-guard relieving Ellis.

Well ESPN is reporting its official. Main announcement tonight but its Wright,Crowder,Nelson, and a first and second rounder to Boston.

Rondo to the Mavs

Damn I think we gave up to much. Brandon Wright, Jae Crowder, and Jameer Nelson. Plus a future first AND second round pick. Plus the possibility exists that other players may be added to the final deal. Rondo is good but I don't think it was worth giving up that many players for him. I think this was a bad deal.

I just saw that it was confirmed. That's an awful damn lot to give up for Rondo. Granted, with the Mavs record this year, the Mavs will be drafting late in the rounds and the picks probably won't amount to a lot. I hate to see Wright go.

Wright was the key. Hate hate to see him go. Draft picks mean nothing to me. Mavs dont draft much good in the later picks anyway. Nelson sucked. He wasnt getting it done and was about to be benched anyways in favor of Barea. But Wright...oh man that hurts

I remember back in about 2008 right here on this board most of us were blasting the trade that brought Jason Kidd back to the Mavs for a package that included Devin Harris. Fast foward about 8 years and Harris is back with Dallas and the Mavs won a title with Kidd.
I think Brendan Wright is an unrestricted FA after next season. Maybe the cycle will continue.
