      i think they have been pretty good defensively. that said, i'm surprised germany hasn't put one in the net.

                Defense was flat out non existent at times, which was frustrating to watch. They were on their heels nearly the whole game. Some of the calls/non calls were frustrating as well. But overall, they played well enough to hold a Cup favorite to one goal, and that was impressive in and of itself.

                    defense was poor and the passing was even worse.

                    I think they are lucky they only gave up 1 goal.

                                Mexico was playing to protect the 1-0 lead. These are the best soccer players in the world. You have to push the game and be on offense for 90 mins.
