Well, Perez has a partially torn UCL and can try rest and rehab and be out for 2 months if that works or he can undergo season ending Tommy John surgery. Harrison has a displacement of vertebra and may need spinal fusion surgery which could end his career.

Round Rock has a couple of guys that can fill in, Cory Burns and Matt West. Wilmer Font is ready in Frisco and Luke Jackson could be added to the roster if it gets really desperate. That and there are plenty of teams that'd love to have Odor or Sardinas, we have some good trade bait.
The problem is our lack of offense. If you can only score 1-2 runs a game you aren't going to have a winning record.

Well said... I'm still going to as many games as possible and pulling for them. Hopefully the bats wake up... Would hate to pay Prince as much as we are for him to not do anything.
Originally posted by BP View PostI'm not too concerned about the pitching, yeah it sucks losing your #2 guy but I was never sold on Harrison after surgery. Darvish is still solid, Colby is decent and will tough it out. You could do a lot worse than Baker, Tepesch, Ross and Martinez as the back end of your rotation.

Fielder is out again today and isn't flying to Detroit with the team. Not that it matters, we are facing Chris Young today and he'll probably pitch a 1 hit shutout. It's Darvish tomorrow against Detroit's fill in starter so if we can manage to score a run we might win. Then it's Baker vs Sanchez and Martinez vs Porcello. I don't like our chances in either of those.

Doesn't matter, he's probably going to end up just like Hamilton.

Fielder wants to play every day and he gives 100%. Hamilton takes himself out of games when he's feeling dizzy or drinks too many Red Bulls. We're paying Fielder $19m a season, the Angels are paying Hamilton an average of $26.5 for the next 4 seasons.
Compare Fielder to guys like Teixeira, Pujols, Votto and Napoli and he's worth the money/risk. His dad was a very good player into his mid 30s and wasn't groomed from birth to be a ball player. He may not put up hall of fame numbers but we also aren't paying him Cabrera or Pujols money either.
