I'm good with it, our opening day pitchers usually suck the rest of the year. Drese = 4-10, Feldman = 7-11, Lewis = 6-6, Harrison = 0-2. I wouldn't mind seeing Martin Perez take it on though, CJ and Kenny Rogers were awesome the years they did it. Younger lefties seem to break the curse.
Sheppers was just announced as the opening day starter. Sheppers, Perez, Ross and Saunders with Nick Martinez as the 5th. They expect Lewis to be back by the time he's needed though.
The good news is that Darvish doesn't have any damage, just soreness. So all hope isn't lost yet. Also Choice made the team as a 4th outfielder and they claimed Donnie Murphy as a fill in at 2nd.
If we have a good run it'll prove our homegrown pitching is pretty good. Saunders is the only player in the rotation signed as a free agent. The A's have won the division two years in a row with lesser known pitchers.
Silly Fielder swinging on a 3-0 pitch, he got way under it but the ball still hit the back of the Ranger's bullpen. That would have been a lazy pop fly by most hitters.
