Texas Rangers pitcher Matt Harrison switches mattresses, now feels 100 percent; but how many games will he miss?
SURPRISE, Ariz. – Texas Rangers lefty Matt Harrison said that after switching beds in his rental house his back stiffness has disappeared, but, he added, that unfortunate soft mattress will likely force him to miss at least one start during the regular season.
“In my opinion, no, I don’t think [the opening day rotation] is going to happen,” Harrison said Sunday. “Hopefully, before middle April I’ll be. But this little setback has put them on high alert. I hate it, but I understand it. I had two starts last April and none after that; I’d rather have less starts in April and 30 after that.”
Harrison will fly back to Dallas on Monday to have the back further examined by Rangers spine specialist Dr. Drew Dossett, who performed both of his back surgeries last year.

Rangers extended Warsh's contract for 1 more year. I still believe that if the Rangers don't make the playoffs this year, he's done. Further more, I think they need to make the playoffs and win a round.
As for Harrison, he appears to be back at full strength.

History is on our side, right? I remember after the Rangers blew the Series against St Louis, there was some comment that there had been 2 other teams that had lost back to back WS, but they both went on to win in all within the next 3 years or some such. Well, if that's to hold true, we HAVE to win it. No pressure!

We still have some question marks in the rotation but every team does. Darvish is a lock, Perez is a good #2 guy, Holland and Harrison should be solid soon, Lewis is looking good so far, Ogando hasn't changed at all and we also have Hanson. As long as Darvish stays healthy and half of the rest of the starters pan out we'll be okay. Our bullpen is going to be great. We have Feliz as a closer and Soria ready to step in if he falters, plus Ross or Sheppers could make the move. Or any of them other than Feliz could step up and start if necessary.

The only thing that worries me is our rotation depth to start the season. The only lock i see is Darvish. Perez had half a good season. Harrison and Lewis are still HUGE question marks and Ogando has never shown he can pitch a full season w/o hitting the DL or the fatigue wall.I won't even consider guys like Hanson,Tepesch, and Contreras as they have shown nothing the last few years. Other than that, i like our bullpen with a little concern about Feliz and feel much better about our offense and defense.
