      • I was close! I would have swore Jeff could have run him down. But it seems there are no more "road course specialist" anymore. Its all about who has the best car, or strategy.

Anything that idiot does is boring. I like how he is still bitching about how Jeff had eventually apologized to everybody he roughed up last year except him. Then goes on to say how it was great seeing Jeff come in second. Jeff got the last laugh.... Jeff congratulated him in the winners circle but said in a post race interview..... " I still didnt apologize to him." with a big smile.

                • there are no roadrace specialists anymore because they get their ass kicked stopping, parking, and pointing. Oval guys with the momentum mentality always win.... driving ovals made me faster on roadcourses.....

I know. I was referring to the regular cup guys that used to dominate road courses such as drivers like Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Robby Gordon..... Those guys would always beat the regulars and the "hired guns" that would come in and drive for some of the other cup guys.

Those days are gone. Seems all the cup guys, at least the drivers who drive for the top teams are pretty evenly matched.

                    • HAMPTON, Ga. -- Chad Ochocinco has turned to NASCAR in his ongoing search for thrills away from the football field.

Ochocinco was strapped in for the ride as Jeff Burton drove his No. 31 car around Atlanta Motor Speedway on Thursday. Burton estimated he reached speeds of 150 to 160 miles per hour with Ochocinco.

A smiling Ochocino said he has interest in the sport as an owner -- for a No. 85 car, of course -- but not a driver because "I'd lose every damn day."

Ochocinco, the six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, took the ride about six weeks after visiting the Professional Bull Riders circuit near Atlanta to ride a 1,500-pound bull for 1.5 seconds. He also has tried out for Sporting Kansas City of Major League Soccer and said he next plans to wrestle an alligator.

                      • Well at least he can admit that he can fund a team but not drive the car himself if he ever did get a team going.

Brown is currently starting a NASCAR racing team as part of their Drive for Diversity program. He is recruiting African American sponsors to fund the venture, and has worked out a technical alliance with Roush Fenway Racing, who will provide support to the upstart team. Brown hopes to eventually find a black, Hispanic, or woman driver to be the star of his team in order to bring an element of diversity to what is a white-dominated sport.

You know, though it is a predominately "white" motor sport, and I understand the wanting the (diversity) and all .... but I hate when they make that the focus. I dont think there is anything other than talent that keeps women or other races from succeeding in the sport. Plus I dont see to many other races exactly knocking down the door trying to get in a car.
I also dont see it as a "good ol boy" sport anymore. When it blew up over the last ten or so years, it became a business/motorsport in my opinion.
