I think it would be a good thing not to rush this kid. Yes Im impressed, but even he says that he needs to get more experience. I was so happy though that Bobby Labonte finished 4th, and pushed Bayne to the win all the way until turn 4, but foxsports.com, nascar.com, or even Fox itself mentioned that.
That's one thing that many people don't understand, plate racing is so much different than every other track these guys go to, it's like the lottery, anyone can literally win, and you don't even have to have the fastest car to do so. I don't think he is ready for the a full Sprint Cup ride. He did great yesterday, but he has not even had much success in Nationwide to prove he can be competitive in Sprint, which is what it all boils down to. IIRC, the Wood Brothers didn't have anyone to drive their car for the 500 and asked him to race the car in Daytona, which is 1 of only 17 tracks they plan on running this year.

Bayne had a good car all of speedweeks, he didnt get lucky. In qualifying he posted the 3rd quickest lap time, and was the fastest Ford driver in time trials. In the Duel race Jeff Gordon told him to push him and it would teach him some stuff. Gordon was impressed with Bayne and told him that whenever we are near each other to lets hook up. I think that raised some eyebrowls from other drivers thinking if Gordon trust this kid then so can I. Bayne was consistently in the Top 10 all day, never made a mistake that I can think of.

I think that may be the funniest thing I have ever heard anyone say about the winner of a restirctor plate race. So you're really going to sit there with a straight face and tell me that the entire race went by without him getting caught up in a wreck let alone barely have a scratched race car and it wasn't luck? Now THAT is some funny shit right there. Plate tracks are all about luck, just ask any of the driver's, they'll tell you the same thing. Sure you can try to set yourself up the best you know how, but in the end it all comes down to luck, as well as not getting collected in any wrecks along the way.

Yes it its luck that you didnt get into a wreck, but when you have a good car like he did you have a less chance to get into a wreck. When most of the wrecks happened he was ahead of them. The kid drove a great race, and it wasnt like he was never upfront all day and then all the suddon he comes out of nowhere to win. He was consistently in the Top 10 all day.

I thought this race had a few drivers that are in low funded teams have a good run. David Gilliland finished 3rd. Trevor Bayne won the race. Regan Smith finished 9th and had been in the mix for most of the race. Dave Blaney also had the 36 car in the Top 10 for a little bit before he got caught up in a wreck. Also Terry Labonte had a nice showing

LOL!
That was Regan Smith, but nice try.

Case in point, they both suck equally.

Funny everyone was calling him to run a full schedule after winning the Daytona 500, but then he crashed in practice today at Phoenix and will be in a backup for the race.

Regan Smith runs with a single-car team that has nowhere near the funds of the big Hendrick/Gibbs/Roush boys. In fact, their shop is nowhere near North Carolina. Trevor had a brake problem before one lap was completed...I bet the car chief/crew chief are in trouble for that one! What team do you drive for?

And? I never said anything about their teams, I said they both suck equally.

He also mentioned that he knew there was something wrong with the brakes before he even went out, but did so anyway. Sounds just like a rookie, just run it and don't worry if they are problems with the car.

lol you sound like the stereotypical Monday morning quarterback. Of course all of these people are terrible and you know exactly what to do right? Have you ever driven a racecar? Made the race-winning, or race-losing call on the radio as the crew chief? Have you ever jumped over the wall as the race leader came down pit road? I'm going to take a wild guess that you are middle-aged or older, at least 40 pounds overweight, and probably yell at your tv as the race is on every Sunday.......

in all fairness if you've ever stepped on a brake pedal for a 3400 pound car that has to stop for 400 miles, there isn't alot of feedback in the pedal, feels like a rock. Bayne and Smith are both decent wheel men, how much shit they tear up is what defines them and the rest of the goons that bring big sacks of cash.

Not only do you have a sandy vag for no apparent reason, but you're also horrible at making assumptions. So tell us, are you friends with some of these drivers? I'll assume no, and you're just being a keyboard warrior. I've noted how easy it is to strike a nerve with you and I'll make sure to step lightly around your mood swings from now on, sugar.
