And why was Case even on the team? He had no business taking up a scholarship on any D-1 school, especially not Texas. That's all on Mack

Strong might be the same type of coach, but I'd be willing to bet money he doesn't coddle his players like grandpa Mack does. That alone is my biggest problem with Mack. Players coming out of Texas are known as being soft. I'm tired of hearing that.

Never said Mack is the worst coach ever(you really like putting words in my mouth). I said he was good not great. That's all

Mack getting canned really hit you hard, huh?

Just thought I would throw in a little humor to the situation. You guys should really just go ahead and and lockup Charlie Strong. With Louisville going to the the ACC and Bridgewater going pro, it's going to be a lot tougher for him to win now.

It's expected since you can't think beyond whatever is right in front of you. I'm not a teacher, but I work in a technical field and am capable of in depth analysis and stringing compound sentences together with correct grammar. It seems you have trouble reading and more importantly comprehending.

Case was ranked 50th in the 2010 class. They also signed Connor Wood who was ranked 9th that year, so I honestly don't see the problem with signing Case. I don't think he was ever expected to have to play and lead the team but could be a plug in as needed here and there and to be a practice team QB. Ash was signed the next year, and at the time they signed Wood and Case, they also had Gilbert. You recruit types of kids, and I think everyone expected Case to be in the same mold as his older brother but without the performance expectations. In other words, they knew what they were getting -- a practice grade QB who should fill that role nicely.

Players coming out of UT are soft? Really? McCoy took a beating in Cleveland and kept coming up for more. Jamal Charles is soft, huh? That's why he has been dominant this season I guess. Maybe you mean Chris Ogbonnaya or Marquise Goodwin? No? How about Jermichael Finley or Henry Melton? Maybe Brian Orakpo or a guy like Quentin Jammer then. Wait, you mean the kickers like Justin Tucker! That's it. Who calls players coming out of Texas soft? No one with a brain for sure.

...and here you miss the point I've made multiple times over and over again. Right now, they're replacing one of the most successful coaches of all time with...a big fat unknown. They totally mishandled and mistreated the situation that wasn't nearly as bad as everyone thought. Thinking he wasn't a great coach is absurd, but I expect that from someone with your IQ. Losing a legend and HOF'er as a coach and having no idea who to replace him with hurt me as a Texas fan. As far as Mack goes, I hate seeing any person in any trade who has given and produced the way he has treated in such a manner. I lived in NC and had season tickets when he was there. I watched him right that ship and then saw him build an empire in Austin. I have coach youth sports and have 2 sons that play. I admire the way Mack treats people and takes care of those entrusted to him. Not every kid who picks up a ball will be a professional athlete. The odds are very slim, but you can't seem to grasp that. Playing collegiate sports is a blessing to those who get to do it because of the experience and the opportunity for an education that comes with it. Maybe one day you'll get that it isn't a minor league/developmental league for the pros. Until then, carry on with your display of ignorance...

I get what you are saying, but I don't agree with it. What Mack did 3-5 years ago isn't relevant. If you don't perform, you're done. That's the way it works in the real world, so why would coaching be any different? This is a "what have you done for me lately" society.

I think certain professions get leeway, especially once you've reached a certain point in your career. The QB position is so important in today's football -- way more than 10 or even 5 years ago. I think that was the only piece missing in Austin once Diaz was out of the way. They were still pretty solid with talent the rest of the way. In the end though, I don't think you pull the plug until you have something better to take the place. That clearly isn't the case.

News out a little bit ago further strengthens my point -- no plan in place to replace him. Mora said no thanks...right on the heels of Briles saying no thanks...right on the heels of Fisher signing an extension...on the heels of Shaw saying no thanks...after Harbaugh dismissed it...after Saban signed an extension... Maybe they can recycle Lane Kiffin...

If they don't hire Strong, they're royally screwed. Right now, they look like jackasses the way everyone is saying no thanks.

What are you, 15? No wait, I know. You're 22 and living at home because you dropped out of your second year of community college. It's all good though, the world needs people like you to cook fries and refill the wiper fluid at an oil change house. Your parents must be proud. Ironic that I'm the moron when you can't spell. Wait, I bet you don't know what irony is either. You suck at arguing, and you suck at life. Not once in this thread did you produce any facts nor could you dispute any that I posted with real data. Stick with the name calling since it's clearly the only thing you do remotely well. Just do us all one big favor and never reproduce -- there are already enough morons in this world without you adding more to the mix.

I think it's funny I can type two sentences and get you all riled up. You make me laugh and I appreciate that. Thanks, old timmer

Oh let me give you some advice on talking shit and being funny while doing it. It would've been better if you quoted Caddyshack and said "the world needs ditch diggers too". You're welcome
