  • Sanchez, Edwards make it rain after loss to Steelers

After losing the AFC Championship Game to the Steelers, two Jets stars partied int the wee hours, according to the New York Post.

    Updated Jan 25, 2011 6:53 PM ET

Despite Sunday's crushing defeat by the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez and wide receiver Braylon Edwards partied until the early hours at a New York club where they spent more than $2,500, The New York Post reported Tuesday.

While Jets fans mourned, Sanchez drowned his sorrows by knocking back shots and chatting up the pretty bartender at Chelsea's Juliet Supper Club after arriving at 3 a.m. ET Monday, while Edwards ordered a $1,100 bottle of Ace of Spades Champagne and tequila shots for his table.

Even though he is a free agent and may not be brought back, Edwards was bullish about the team. He went to the DJ booth, grabbed the microphone and told the crowd — which included actor Greg Bello, Knicks player Roger Mason and model Tyson Beckford — that "the Jets will be back next season and will go all the way to the Super Bowl."

A source said: "Mark sat with Braylon for a short while, but soon enough he was back at the bar flirting with the bartender, a gorgeous South American girl — busty with long, dark-reddish hair. They were doing shots together, and he kept whispering in her ear and holding her hand. He looked pretty enamored and was at the bar until closing time."

The source added, "He went home alone, but phone numbers were exchanged. Edwards' bill came to around $2,500."

The players closed down the club at 4:30 a.m. local time. Edwards, who was charged with DUI in September, left in a chauffeur-driven Escalade. One source said, "The club got all the players drivers after that incident. They were taking no chances."

A rep for the Jets did not return a call for comment.

Pics of whore bartender are required in order to rate post. As it stands, it's 1/10.

My child looks up to these players as role models. They should not have adult nights out.

Good for him/them. They took out not only the Colts, but the Patriots. They had to have been a bit beat going into that Steelers game.

Poor thread title, there was no mention of $1 bills or midgets.

I would have said I was absolutely shocked that they actually got a D.D., but it looks like the team has appointed baby sitters for their players.
