  • Mack Brown stepping down...

Reports are out that he'll step down as head coach after the bowl game. As a Texas fan, I'm alright with this. He put his time in and had some good years with the team, but it's time to move on. I'm anxious to see who they'll bring in as a replacement.

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

It's about 3 years late, but I'll take it.

P.S. I hope Case McCoy is alongside him driving off into the sunset.

If Case could hit the broadside of a barn with a pass, they may have beaten Baylor. 3-3 at half time was incredible considering how poorly Case played. I've been pleased with the turnaround they've made since firing Diaz (too little too late there). I hope the freshman QB is the real deal, because something tells me we won't see Ash again.

He went 12/34 with 2 int's. I'll wager that very few NCAA QB's had a worse day, never mind being with a team that was chasing the Big 12 championship.

On Bleacher Report today. I laughed. lol

According to the Associated Press (h/t ESPN.com), the agent of Alabama head coach Nick Saban claimed the University of Texas is the only school that Saban would consider over his current position. One prankster cashed in on Longhorns fans' enthusiasm by paging Saban at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

Multiple Twitter users noticed the trolling page on the intercom asking Saban to meet his car at the curb.

supposed to happen within the next 48hrs and the banquet Friday will be a tribute to Mack for all he's done while at Texas. We'll see if it happens or not.

Saban would be greatness at UT with all the recruits here in Texas. Could be interesting for Baylor, OU, and A&M, recruiting wise.
I think he still goes to a catholic mass before games. Whatever works...I'll bet UT would have a real QB within weeks.

For real. He was awful Saturday in a game where he needed to be his best.

I hope they don't throw Mack out, the way he and Patterson are denying it. It'd kind of be a little greasy of UT's regents. That being said, the shine is off the apple at Alabama, with that Auburn loss.
ZOMBIE REAGAN FOR PRESIDENT 2016!!! heh

My guess is they'll deny until they can announce it formally, the same way they Dodds thing went down. If not, kick his ass to the curb. As far as I know, only Jamail and Red are supporting Mack. Every other booster is sick of him.

Who was the big shot that lobbied the Longhorn network? Did Mack play a big part in that? That could be a factor.

LHN was a Dodds thing for sure and I'm almost certain Bill Powers. I don't know how on board Mack was, he's certainly complained about it since the launch.

If you mean boosters, I'm not sure. Red McCombs did found Clear Channel, so he certainly has a media background. It wouldn't surprise me if he pushed it, but that's simple speculation by me.

Just saw a blurb that 'Bama is offering Saban a nice raise to keep him.

If Mack doesn't want to get tossed out, he should leave on his own. He's a good man, but it's past time.
