  • Cutler...Opinions?

i have never played pro football, so my opinion is strictly one of a fan that watches on t.v., be it on my couch, at a restaurant, at a bar, and on the rare occasion, in the stands at a stadium...

i realize that my lack of experience in this area takes away from my opinion...

but, WHAT THE FUCK was he thinking? he plays in chicago. chicago is one of the most passionate sports cities in the world.

he was playing the most important game of his career so far...

he lost so much respect by not going back into that game. he is fighting a huge uphill battle to win back the fans in chicago.

    thoughts?

I myself saw the replay when he fell and didn't appear to be serious to me. Tripped me out when the Broncos just traded him away. I thought Cutler was starting to fit in at Denver. Though history shows they don't keep people long over there. Looks like Champ is gonna get let go this off season too.

To me it looks like he quit, he didn't look like someone who was injured while standing up most of the game. It's the NFC Championship game, you're almost touching that superbowl trophy. This is where true players perform, injured or not.

Easy to say he wasn't hurt by not seeing a horrific play that caused it, but it is possible to be hurt enough to not be of good service to your team. If he couldn't put full pressure and push off on it then he wouldn't have been worth a shit to the Bears seeing as he couldn't even get much going when he was 100% let alone much less than 100%. I had my own thoughts while the game was still going that maybe it was Smith's decision, to try and give them an opportunity to win since Cutler was not producing, but I'm sure even if that was the case they would never come out and admit it.

No criticism of the 2nd string QB flat out sucking? Cutler did quit but his backup was terrible, which is the coaches fault.

Ha, just found out Caleb Hanie is from Forney. Funny, he was two years behind me. I have never heard of the guy.

my coaches always said there is a difference in being injured and being hurt.

I think Cutler was just hurt. I saw no signs of him even being in any discomfort on the sidelines so thats where he should stay. Roll with the 3rd stringer as the new starter next season.

Don't forget guys, he is type 1 diabetic. That may have actually influenced the decision in some way......but I doubt it.

He wasn't complaining when he got sac'd 60+ times this year.... People are stupid and need to realize it wasn't his decision to sit out the damn game. Yeah he might have made a bad choice though letting it be known his knee got hurt when he should of kept quiet but it was all on the coaches shoulders.

Besides wasn't Cutler the player of the year for the SEC? That's gotta be one tough son of a bitch.

I agree that Denver shoulda kept both him and Marshall, they were really starting to be dangerous together. McDaniels really screwed up that team. Champ is about ready to move on though, he is really expensive and getting old. It's perfect time for them to cut ties, before he becomes outdated so he will leave Denver while still being remembered for his best days. Plus it will free up alot of cap space.
