I'm going to wait it out and see if there are any facts or evidence of any of this. Last I heard the "witnesses" only saw him autograph stuff. Thats perfectly legal. Not saying he's perfect but I'm damn glad we didn't have social media and camera phones when I was 20

I just think he is incredibly immature, and he's going to be pissed when he realizes how much more he could make if he would just shut his mouth and live a normal college life.Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.

So you're telling me I could make big money now, but you won't let me because MAYBE I'll make it later? C'mon man
Look at baseball for example. They get 13 athletic scholarships to fill out a team. They have to have obviously more than 13 kids, so they split those scholarships up and use other scholarship money to build a roster. Then they have to have a stadium to play in. They have to have practice facilities, uniforms, travel budget, etc. All of that costs money.
Now look at it like this. There are Major League baseball teams that can't make money, that can't draw fans, and they are the best of the best in the world. Do you think a baseball team, even at a major school, can actually make enough money to pay all of its costs? The same for golf, volleyball, even basketball in most schools and certainly for swimming, track and field, etc. The money these schools make at something like football goes to help pay for a lot of the other sports and for other kids to go to college on scholarship. That's where a lot of the money goes. Sure, some of the schools have way more of it, but that hasn't been and won't always be the case.
Johnny is no different than thousands of other gifted athletes to have come before him. He is getting a free education. He is getting tons of free exposure that could be marketing him in a positive manner. Instead, he's pissing in the wind and I wouldn't be surprised if he never plays another collegiate down ever again.

You can't sit on your hands for a couple of years and expect to play pro again either. Michael Vick being a rare exception, he played all the football he could in prison and was QB for both teams usually.

Can someone confirm he's getting a free education? I posted earlier his family is of oil money so I wasn't sure if this was true.

I was going to post the same thing. If you pay the football team then you have to pay all the sports. Diving, track, high jump, everybody. If you do some research you will find most every college sports lose money and its the football program that supports them all. That is why they won't ever get paid, you would have to pay them all.

Mark it down. Manziel will make another bona fide idiot move and Sumlin will run his ass out of town.

Then he would have lost his job 100 times over by now for being arrested, underage drinking, not showing up on time, etc. He's getting a scholarship, exposure, and tons of second chances to play football all in a manner that will help promote him to the NFL. Why does he deserve it anymore than the next talented kid? According to you because he's better than everyone else. Why does everyone know his name? It has nothing to do with the exposure ATM gets and the fact that they're a top tier school giving him a chance to play.

I don't think in the United States its illegal to sell autographed merchandise
I don't agree he deserves more than the nexted talented kid. Everyone should be allowed to make money. My arguement isn't that he should be the only one. Are you saying that he shouldn't be allowed to make more money than a less talented kid? Do you think every NFL player should make the same? Should the guy who just started a job make the same as a 20 year vet doing the exact same job?
