  • Cowboys Stadium new name will be......

    http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2013/07/22/s...rights-to-att/

AT&T Stadium? At least AT&T something for sure....

Go Figure since their name is all over the Big Ass TV screens

Cowboys Sell Stadium Naming Rights To AT&T

The Dallas Cowboys are in the process of reaching a Cowboys Stadium naming rights deal with AT&T, sources tell 105.3 The Fan.

The framework of the arrangement – discussed with the telecommunications giant since the $1.2 billion building opened four years ago – once centered on a $25 million-a-year fee. A source said a Farmers Insurance bid of $700 million for a proposed new stadium in LA and the San Francisco 49ers’ recent 20-year deal for $220 million “re-set’’ the framework for conversations, and that the naming rights will likely go into effect for the 2014 season.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has long been ahead of the NFL curve in terms of revenue streams, having cut groundbreaking sponsorship deals in the early 1990’s with Nike, Pepsi and American Express in such a way that the league tried to block the arrangements.

It’s not yet known how “AT&T’’ will be included in the new name. Jones in the past has talked of the value of “Cowboys Stadium’’ as its own brand.

Said Jones in February 2011: “I have always said that unless we are ready in the right way with the right partner, then Cowboys Stadium is the way we want it.’’

It appears the Cowboys now have the right way with the right partner.

I have always maintained the opinion of Jerry Jones. Jerry as far as a GM sucks giant monkey balls, Jerry as far as an owner sucks smaller monkey balls mainly because he wont fire the GM and get a real football guy in here. But Jerry Jones as King of Marketing.

                    1. Jerry bought the Cowboys for $150 million in late 80's.
                    2. Forbes ranks the Cowboys number 5 in the world of most valuable franchises at approx. 2.1 billion.
                    3. Cowboys have been roughly a .500 team since like '98 and yet people still pour money into anything Cowboys, businesses will write out a check without a second thought to be part of the Cowboys brand.
                    4. TV ratings show the Cowboys do good business when on nationally despite whatever their record might be at the time.

How many other teams/franchies could have a couple playoff appearances and one playoff win in like the last 17yrs and still grow like the Cowboys have value wise and financially wise? Answer not too many in the U.S. unless they were named Yankees or Lakers.

Exactly. And Jones will stock the team full of Mexicans as well, just to pick up more sales along the border.

Its official its now called ATT Stadium for a low price of 1.2 billion

                          http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/dal...ys-stadium.ece
Jones added that Legends Drive near the stadium will become AT&T Blvd. or AT&T Drive. Jones also said he wants “this building to be more familiar than the White House.” <-- he smoking crack cause that quote will never happen.

AT&T global marketing officer Cathy Coughlin said her company will continue to invest in improvements to wireless technology at the stadium. Recently, AT&T has doubled the capacity of its 4G LTE network inside the stadium, in the plazas and in parking lots.

Coughlin said, by the start of the regular season, AT&T will nearly double the capacity of the Wi-Fi network inside the stadium and give visitors an enhanced mobile experience.

I'd do it fit 1.2 billion.

But since I don't see a dime of that money, AT&T stadium name is fucking lame!
