    i was waiting to post.

overall monaco is pretty single-file-boring but this year seemed a bit better other than the safety cars and red flag. that maldonado wreck looked intense!

i have to say, i'm not a perez fan and those passes were risky but honestly they were pretty clean. at monaco, you have limited places to pass so if you are going to do it, you have to steal the line and he did it 3 times before fucking up. i will agree the shitty part about his passing was not that he was any faster, it was that he just inserted himself in a position where the other driver was screwed. either collide and end your race or cut the chicane and lose your position.

button and alonso gave him too much room inside while they were early braking so that left the door open. kimi saw him and did exactly what the others should have done by closing the door on him. it just sucks that kimi had to come in and pit as a result which really hurts his points standing. i was happy that perez' race was ruined.

sutil did pretty similar maneuvers at the hairpin.

im very surprised rossberg kept the lead. happy for him.

FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX DU CANADA 2013

race was pretty cut and dry. boring for lead spot but at least a good fight for positions 2-5 until rossberg slipped off. something is wrong when #1 laps everyone but the top 5. it's disappointing when this race isn't as great as i feel like it should be. i know it's unlikely to happen again, but 2011 canada was the greatest race i have ever watched.

clearly another vettel domination. rbr looks as dominant as ever again.

alonso still being a #2 gangster but unless ferrari improves more or vettel has problems...

hamilton milking the mercedes along but i think it's all for nothing. i think the fia hammer is going to come down on them. rossberg lost pace pretty bad.

awesome work by verge and diresta to get solid points.

lotus was terrible this weekend. sucks to see raikkonen losing ground.

mclaren continues to suck. i think they are switching focus to next year. if not they might as well.

also, RIP to the marshall that died in a freak accident with the crane

So... what's your opinion on the tire issue at Silverstone? Something on the track or a curb, or problem on the manufacturing side of things? That was an awesome race though, it had a little bit of everything!

yea it was a crazy race but i enjoyed the hell out of it.

i think the tires are to blame, if there was something on the curbing it would have been apparent. something odd with the sidewall construction, not the delamination issue from earlier this year.

hated to see hamilton fall from #1 due to something out of control like tire failure then massa after he was finally getting his shit together.

i was okay with vettel finally having some bad luck. i was hoping webber was going to win, especially during that hectic stretch.

Crazy but very entertaining race. Rough to see Kimi slip back so far there at the end.

Yeah, same for me... I thought it was interesting when Kimi was talking to his engineer and said I think we might have screwed up not pitting under the SC. I wish I could've been a fly on the wall post race in the Lotus garage.

the safety car either makes or breaks you in terms of tire strategy. if you are first you always get an advantage because you can dive into the pits with no loss of position but if you are down the field and the car comes out in front of you then you are pretty much screwed.

Nice race today. Would have been better if Webber hadn't had a screwed up pit stop.
1 more lap and I think Kimi would have got him.

Camerman got fucking obliterated by Webber's stray tire.

Yet again we find ourselves saying "one more lap" for Kimi after being the bridesmaid yet again.

either the tire change or the warmer weather hurt mercedes and force india but helped mclaren.

                      lotus found more pace.
                      red bull still the best.

FORMULA 1 MAGYAR NAGYDÍJ 2013 (Hungary)

hamilton with the pole and win. surprised everyone including himself by setting pole, then really shocked everyone winning the race with that tire-eater in the heat and doing it without any real threat once grosjean got dinged unfairly (and then dinged again with a meaningless 20 sec. penalty post race).

the tables turned from germany with kimi leading vettel in the closing laps but kimi wasn't having it. solid 2nd place for kimi.
vettel looked off the whole race but webber raced well.
button had a good day, mclaren is doing better and force india is going backwards. mclaren is now within 2 points of a whopping 5th place in the constructors.

bravo williams, scoring their first point with rossberg's late exit.

Grosjean really took the shaft today. He was past Button on that first move when they made contact, but the case could be made that he moved over unnecessarily. The drive-thru for the Massa incident was completely laughable given the event itself and the rest of the race. And then Alonso uses DRS illegally 3 times and only gets a fine? Come the fuck on.

Solid race, though, fairly entertaining. Great to see Kimi turn the tables in the last laps for once. Would have been nice to see Grosjean get a shot at challenging queen douchebag for the win, though.

in other news, the AUSTRIAN grand prix is supposed to be back on the calendar next year.

if so, i'm hoping it is 1 week before or after the belgian grand prix (my favorite) because i may try to go to europe next year to see a race at spa francorchamps and if feasible do austria too.

they really had it in for the frenchie today. the pass on massa was only 2 wheels off... i dont think that should have been a penalty at all.

then if they hit grosjean with a 20 second penalty post race for that button incident, why not massa for clipping rossberg at the start?
