This goes to show that Steven should yank that team away from his nutbag dad. I agree Romo needed to be signed and I also agree that he was pretty much holding all the cards in negotiation thanks to Jerry restructuring his contract over and over but he should have asked Romo and his agent what has he achieved and pay according to that. If they didnt play ball then trade his ass for picks and put in Orton and just call it a rebuilding year and go after a QB in the draft in 2014.
Actually the deal moves money that they have been putting off and now gives them alot of cap room to sign free agents. No telling how much yet but that is why Romo got paid, they have been re-doing his contract so much in past years that he had them backed into a corner on a deal. They had to re-sign him or live with no money. And the way his deal was written if they didnt sign him or franchise him now with one year left then he automatically would have become a free agent next year and the cowboys could not have franchised him. Heard that this morning.
Hell, they had to re-do Ware, Austin and a couple others just to get under the cap limit.
