  • Dallas Stars 2010-2011 thread

So I'm sitting here watching the game and the Stars just went up 2-0 on Minnesota on a beautiful goal by Jamie Benn. Then got to thinking...and went back one month and couldn't find a Stars thread. The Stars are quietly having a damn good season...1st place in their division and have beat up on some pretty solid teams this year. I don't know that they're championship caliber, but they can make some noise. I was a huge fan from around 96 up until the lockout. Got tired of seeing us having good seasons and then bowing out quickly because Turco turned to mush in the playoffs. The last 3-4 years - I haven't given one hoot about hockey, but I'm starting to be drawn back in. I don't think this thread will get as much attn as the Mavs/Rangers/Cowboys...but it'd be cool to track them through the end of this season.

Having two solid goalies is pretty nice. They've been fun to watch this season.

Stars got this one all but in the books. 4-0 over the Wild late in the 3rd.

So how about them Dallas Stars..... Surprised no one has talked about them all season.

        I thought I had made a thread but apparently I didn't!

They took an ass whooping last night to San Jose 0-6 and only about 6-7 games left I don't think they will make the playoffs at this rate.

Yep, stick a fork in 'em. I think they're done. They were off to such a promising start too.

Yeah, honestly I haven't paid a whole lot of attention to the middle of the season just the beginning and damn I hate to say it but doubt I'll be paying much attention to the end of the season either. They are young though and will be back for sure next year!

The season was over when Brad Richards got hurt.

Goligoski was a great pickup, but our offense has been bad lately. Kari has been doing decent, last night they just gave up.

Richards has been a no show every game since he has been back. Its like he lost his talent with his injury.

Yeah, he just never showed back up. Burish being out hasn't helped either. Nor has Kari's necessity to poke check at every single shooter he faces in a goddamned shootout.

They've got a shot with 3 games left against non-playoff teams and both Chicago and Anaheim playing some pretty high caliber teams, but it's still looking bleak.

Was at last nights game, the stars just don't look all there. They took the win, but the game was kinda blah. Am going to their last home game tomorrow, hope we can get a fire burning again. Just need some help from other teams.

I've been out of this season with my kids and such, but just the scores alone that I've been getting SMS'ed via ESPN look BAD.

Ashame too, at the beginning of the season they seemed like very real contenders. It would guess that even if they do make it to the playoffs, they'll be eliminated in the first round.
