Gonzalez was lights out on the bump last night. There were some good defensive plays by both teams too. I'm looking forward to the US vs. Dominican tomorrow. Winner moves on to the next round no matter what happens in the next game.

My brother and I have been planning for several years to take a trip one day to go visit Japan specifically to experience their baseball games. The crowds are just insane.

Not much of an equivalent as far as I know, but I'm really only tangentially familiar with their league. To be honest, their championship has had a lot of parity. I think all but one team has won a championship, but that's a slightly different deal in a 12-15 team league.
