In my opinion, it's still bullshit.

    1. DUIs are BAD things.
    2. Like the coaches/owners/GMs...etc don't know who the party people are anyway.

I think it boils down to what was mentioned earlier. Egos and "I won't get caught" mentality.

I don't know if every team has this, but I know for a fact that the Cowboys have a program just like it. That way, it's kept within the organization and not subject to ridicule from Goodell and his henchmen. No excuse, IMO. Assuming he was actually drunk. From the facts reported, it seems he may not have been drunk, and has a pretty good defense.

the nfl has its a program available to everyone. apparently it is expensive as fuck per hour (not really a problem for these fools making 6/7 figures) and its not instant like a cab you will wait up to a few hours at times. (edit: so not the nfl, but the players association)

I still don't get how these guys don't have a friend or something they can call on, its not like they don't have the money to pay someone to fucking drive them around.

Repost. I'm talking about what the Cowboys offer, in addition to the NFL and NFLPA programs.

don't they need a warrant for that?

I've heard if you plead quilty to a first offense DWI, you can have a no right to refusal while your on probation.

Yes, and a judge issued a warrant for one. Can you stupid mother fuckers not read?

As for no refusal, that's pretty much the status quo, and has nothing to do with whether or not you already have a DWI, are on probation, etc. Several local cities are already no refusal. You don't blow, they take your blood, period. They even advertise "No Refusal Weekend" on holidays synonymous with drinking.

as for the warrant and refusal, is it common for them to issue a warrant that quick if you do refuse at the scene?

I've heard of the no refusal weekend or holiday thing, that was one of the main reasons I didn't want to go out on new years

As long as a magistrate is available, yes. They usually have one on call, because if they have to wait til the next morning, the BAC goes down, and they could lose the revenue stream by having to drop the charges.

On no refusal weekend, they can get a warrant approved right there on scene, before they ever haul you in.

so in your opinion is it better to refuse or not if I get pulled over? Hopefully I won't have to remember this in the future.

Any attorney you talk to, will tell you the worst thing you can possibly do is blow. Never agree to a breathalyzer if you've had so much as one drink. They WILL suspend your license automatically if you refuse, but you can get it back. And they're going to suspend your license anyways, if you blow above a .08.

Helps with hangovers, but worthless when it comes to BAC.
