I can honestly say I didn't expect them to have a shot at the playoffs this year.

Sad to see Morrow (Brenden) go, but it's probably the right move to make. Stars weren't going to re-sign him for next year, most likely, and in return they get one of the top 20 prospects (labeled "untouchable" in trades by many front office people) in the league at a position they desperately need some help at.
Honestly, if Morrow (Joe) pans out, the Stars might finally have a decent D again in a few years for the first time in a decade. Dillon, Oleksiak, and Morrow have potential, and if Goligoski ever finds some consistency he'll be a decent leader going forward.
Farm system still needs a stand-out player; lots of serviceable talent, and I guess it's hard to complain with Benn coming through not so long ago, but a big offensive talent would be nice.

On the plus side, I think my prediction of their playoff doom might have been a touch premature. They've shown some life in the past few games, albeit squarely on Kari's back (as usual) and one of which was against the Avalanche...
Chances to make it in aren't bad when you look at the parity in the West; that also makes their chances pretty shaky, too. At least the top offensive line hasn't been -343 in the past few games like they seemed to have been for several weeks.

And i promise you, they will get one more decent deal before the deadline. I just wonder who they would deal to get that person.

To bad I missed the game, because I was watching March Madness....
Jaromir Jagr got his 1,000th NHL assist. The Dallas Stars got some revenge.
Jagr became the 12th player in League history to reach 1,000 assists and the Stars avenged a 7-4 home loss to Minnesota four days earlier with a 5-3 victory Friday night that snapped the Wild's seven-game winning streak.
