I consider this season a success since A&M made a bowl game, everything else is exceeding expectations. I never said why I wanted A&M to play Texas but you automatically think its about beating them and making our season. A&M beat Alabama who was #1 at the time, on a prime time game that was the second most watched game of the season for all of college football. Sure beats beating Texas in my opinion. I want to see Texas and A&M play in the Cotton Bowl for the DFW area. Lots of money will be rolling in to the area and lots of local recruits can come. The Cotton Bowl would love it but I don't think it will do well on TV if that happens.

I would love a more meaningful bowl but the BCS system is screwed up. Before last week several people had A&M going into a BCS game but after Oregon and KSU lost that pretty much out of the picture. Doesn't make much sense to me and I will take whatever bowl we get. A BCS game is preferred with the payout being $15 million plus vs $3 million for the Cotton Bowl.

Well opinions vary and one must consider the merit of any opinions on this website. I have found it is common that people here dismiss civility as the social norm is to attack another’s characters without consideration or thought. What is meant to be a forum for discussing sports quickly deteriorates into name calling or moral victories. The mere mention of the word stats brings the egos to front of the line and we digress into discussions of research, p values and various other non sports talk. Of course I don’t attend every argument I am invited to. I need to truly apply that concept here on this site.

They have a new coach, new offense system, new defense system, freshman QB, and a new tougher conference. Going 9-2, possibly to finish 10-2, in the toughest conference in the country is a feat in itself. Losing by a total of 8 points in the two loses is one thing but when you think about the field goal kicker missing 5 field goals and 2 PATs in these games makes you think.

This year there is no great team like Alabama last year but the SEC is still strong with 5 out of the top 10 teams. Texas has the 38th hardest schedule and is ranked 16. They are slowly rebuilding but they have been doing that since Vince Young left. I hope Texas beats KSU and play A&M in the Cotton Bowl.

Texas A&M is hands down better than UT this year in my opinion. The only teams that have beaten us are ranked #4 and #7, we have also beaten the current #2 team in the BCS rankings. Our combined points lost by equals 8.

As for UT they got the snot completely kicked out of them by OU 63-21, right after losing at home by 3 to WVU who is currently not ranked. I find all of the talk of the SEC being over rated funny. The Big 12 seems content to kick each other around but not be able to compete with other conferences teams, examples being, OU vs ND or OSU vs AZ.

And what the hell were the aggies in the big 12? Nothing they are having one good season in the SEC. Lets see how they do after 5-10 years in the SEC. I'm sure they will be the bitch of the conference just like they were in the big 12.
