Weird how they were the whipping boys of the Big 12 and now in the SEC they're having some success. Kind of makes you question how tough the SEC really is.

Oregon lost a close one to Cam Newton (mediocre team with unreal QB)

Texas lost due to McCoy going out on like the 4th or 5th play

Oklahoma lost because they're a bunch of chokers.

Sweater vest lost twice because the Big Ten sucks




Still doesn't validate their "toughness" IMO.

Well the SEC is not a cake walk but neither is the Big 12. Since the inception of the BSC, there have been 14 National Championship games, the Big 12 has won 2 and the SEC has won 8. The SEC has won the last 6. The stats do not lie, the SEC has proven year in and year out that the conference is capable of producing the National Champion. Perhaps we will get to play UT in the Cotton Bowl.

If you want to start making this a 1 team and 1 game conversation I'm sure we can do that. I was actually talking about the entire conference, but as of last season UT is 189–92–10 all time against SEC teams.

LoL, then the Ohio State game that UT won in 2005 meant zero? It vaulted UT into the national spot light and if I apply your Cam Newton theory, then UT simply won a close one against a questionable USC because of Vince Young? This is not a logical approach and to be honest only serves to show that you are so obsessed with berating A&M you cannot see the forest for the trees.

Also in 2003/2004 when LSU beat OU, OU had demolished UT 65-13 then in 2008/2009 when OU lost to Florida, OU had lost to UT 45-35 only for UT to fall in the final 90 seconds of the TT game to get knocked out of the title hunt whereas OU demolished TT that year 65-21.

I hold that the Big 12 and SEC are the best two conferences in the NCAA, period.

And the year that Texas lost to Tech they played OU who was ranked high, played OSU the next week who was ranked high and then played Tech the following week who was ranked high. I would love to see any team in the country at that time win all three of those games. Or come close like Texas did that year.

I don't know what point you're making. I never said the SEC was a bad conference. I was just pointing out that just because they've won the last 6 BCS titles doesn't mean they're the top dogs. A&M reinforced that tonight.

Hell, A&M is a close game with UF and LSU away from being the best SEC team in their first year with a new coach and freshman QB.
