He pitched well, but the bad throw and the base hit ended the game. Clearly the offense couldn't get anything done in the 9 extra innings which is just ridiculous for the guys that started this game.

Yay mutherfucking yay! Glad to have his ass gone. Hopefully permanently. http://rangersblog.dallasnews.com/20...lymphoma.html/

TORONTO – The Texas Rangers have placed struggling LHP Michael Kirkman on the 15-day disabled list with a recurrence of the cutaneous lymphoma, essentially skin cancer, in the area of his right triceps. Kirkman was treated for the same issue before the 2012 season.

The club has purchased the contract of RHP Kyle McClellan to replace him in the bullpen. McClellan, who was slowed in his recovery from a pair of surgical procedures last year, has recently made eight appearances in the minors leagues and compiled a 2.00 ERA in nine innings.

The move of Kirkman is retroactive to Friday, a day after he allowed a three-run walk-off home run to Boston’s David Ortiz to raise his season ERA to 8.18.

The lymphoma was apparently discovered in a recent sun screening of Rangers’ players. He will receive treatment shortly, but there is no timetable for his return.

Also, later Sunday morning, RHP Alexi Ogando will play catch to determine if he’s capable of making his start on Monday against Cleveland after he complained of renewed soreness in the biceps area during his between-starts bullpen session. If he can’t go, the Rangers will likely recall RHP Josh Lindblom from Triple-A Round Rock. Lindblom, who made one start earlier this year for the Rangers, was scratched from his scheduled start for Round Rock on Saturday.

It doesn't bother me that Chris Davis succeeds. I only hoped that he would have done that here. Hambone on the other hand...I love seeing his average creep ever closer to .200. I do often wonder though, if he had resigned here, would he be sucking this bad? My mind says "no". We'll never know though.

Damn. Hoping he gets released is one thing, but celebrating him going on the DL, for cancer no less, is pretty fucked up.

Why wouldn't he? He's been sucking this hard since the middle of last season.

                      • Davis didn't get along with the players here. Sure they never said anything but I watched the locker room footage when they won the ALDS, then the ALCS and he was standing around with the pitchers, not the infielders. He tried to pour a beer on Cliff Lee during an interview and got a go to hell look. If it was Elvis, Feliz, Napoli or probably anyone else he would have laughed it off.

Hambone got a lot of sympathy from the team here and Wash is pretty good at giving people a shoulder to cry on. Other than CJ he's not going to get anyone to listen to his whining in LA. Scioscia doesn't take crap off anyone and expects grown men to be grown men. He's not a good manager for someone like Hamilton and it's bringing the whole team down.
