Daniels said today the Rangers are out of the RA Dickey talks. I wasn't real big on him anyway. Besides last year, his career numbers are pathetic. DMN says its between the Angels and Blue Jays.

It really looks like we are going to battle next year with what we have barring a few minor bullpen pieces and another outfielder.

He's got a 3.40 ERA in the 5 years since he left Texas and learned how to use the knuckle ball. He would be a nice addition. Not great, but hardly pathetic.

I agree. Looking at this current staff, he could definitely help.

Yea so would you be willing to give up Profar for Dickey? Cause you know that is what the Mets were probably asking for. The Jays will give up their top catching prospect(plus more) and he was rated above Mike Olt.

The problem is now teams think the Rangers are desperate. They have bombed out so bad this offseason its in their best interests to compete with their prospects and start sniffing next year at the trade deadline.

I don't really know enough about Profar. There's probably a good reason why Texas wants to keep him and other teams want to get him, though.

A little late, but the shootings kinda delayed my comments on Josh.

I will miss Josh as a player overall. Late in 2012 he kind of quit in my opinion. This guy was a great player for the Rangers for a few years. He also had a few that were well, average due to getting hurt. The Angels got someone that can kill, or get killed. (away and low off speed are the pitches I saw)

This offseason overall hurts the Texas Rangers. Losing Hammy, Nap, Young really hurts the run production. Less runs puts more pressure on pitching and defense. Colby, Nefty are going to be "iffy" coming back from big injuires and rehabs. Holland, Harrison, (Beltre?), Perez? Who else am I mentioning... Feldman went away (yes), Dumpster and Ballswald are gone ( no big loss)....

The defense is.. well. Who knows. Andrus can make crazy plays and fuck up easy ones. Same for Kinsler. Young out of infield helps. Outfield though, Murph, Cruz(jerk lost game 6 I think), Gentry?

2013, so far is not looking very good to me for my Rangers. Angels got a lot stronger. Poo Holes/ Hammy/ Trumbo/ Fishy guy-Trout.

So far it is getting very difficult to get excited for 2013 for me. The Ranger will compete, but can not win the AL west as of today's roster.

Just saw a little blurb in this morning's DMN sports section by Sherrington that said,"Josh Hamilton leaves a hole and a legacy as the most talented and enigmatic player in Ranger history." Hmmm. Just some food for thought.

I really have mixed emotions about Josh leaving. I think if he would have gone to the NL it wouldn't have mattered as much. I just remember being so pissed this season when he was flailing away at pitches and half-assing it in the outfield that i was thinking its great the Rangers didn't sign him. But i also remember the monster streaks where he would almost single-handily carry the Rangers. He's a big hole that can't be filled. In that respect, i get pissed at Daniels for not getting something done last year when he could have locked him up long term...oh well its over now. Its just going to be very hard watching him in an Angels uniform.

Yeah. I also saw where his wife opened her big mouth again, saying the Ranger's should have "put a ring on his finger". He also said he gave the Ranger's "everything he had for five years". Yes, there were some great "streaks", but there were some obvious "I don't give a shit" stretches in there, too.

Mike Adams is gone now, as well, but I guess we're just in a middle of a little rebuilding phase, right? Is anybody seeing any "building" being done?

For fuck's sake, there are a limited number of players to get, even fewer that would improve the team, and even fewer that are available. If deals aren't there, they shouldn't be forced. Do you want another A-Rod or Pujols contract?

Nope, not at all. The only positional players really left are Bourn, Swisher, and LaRoche. None of those guys excite me at all. For the bullpen, i might kick the tires on R. Soriano but i think he's a Boras client so that would eliminate him. For pitching, there is K. Lohse but again i would only want him on the cheap.
