For Rangers fans, Josh Hamilton's drop of a routine fly ball in Oakland last year is probably a memory that still stings.
For A's fans, it's cause for celebration.
A's fans organized an unofficial "Josh Hamilton appreciation night" at the O.co Coliseum Monday night when the Angels arrived for a three-game series. The event wasn't sanctioned by A's officials, but Oakland fans booed every Angel except for Hamilton, who earned cheers throughout the night.

A's fans also honored Hamilton by tossing him Butterfingers candy bars -- another ode to his drop -- during batting practice.

Oakland fans had even more to thank Hamilton for by the end of a long night. The A's beat the Angels, 10-8, in 19 innings, with Hamilton going 0-for-8 with three strikeouts.
