Oakland has an afternoon game with Cincy today...losing 5-2 in the 4th inning today. If the Rangers can pull another one off tonight vs LA, we'll be tied. As much as I prefer being in 1st, the Rangers seemed to have pulled their heads out of their @$$ and have been playing a lot better with the pressure on them to stay in the playoff hunt.

Rangers have one helluva easy schedule for August and the A's not so much. Rangers have 7 against the 'Stros, 6 against Seattle, 3 with the Twins, 3 with the White Sox and 2 with the Brewers. The Mariners are the best team on that list at 9 games under .500. Oakland at the end of the month gets 3 at the O's, 4 at Detroit, 3 against Tampa, and starts Sept with 3 against us. As long as the Rangers beat the teams they should, they should move past Oakland fairly easily.

Thankfully the Nelly distractions are over and hopefully Garza stays off twitter so we can concentrate on winning. No more trade talks, no more wondering if Colby is going to come back, we have an established line up and a decent rotation.

All I want to hear about in the news now is how they are playing Profar and where Feliz, Harrison and Berkman are going to play when they come back. The team is going to get better in the next few weeks.

Agreed Rangers need to take advantage and gain some ground on Oakland with their upcoming schedule.

I love this clinic the Rangers have put on the Halos in the first couple of innings tonight. 2 steals a piece by Andrus and Martin. Sacrifice bunts. Sacrifice flies. Holy hell. Where has this team been hiding all year?

Gentry was straight stealing, Profar was swinging if he got a good pitch. The only way it doesn't work is if Profar lines out, like he did.
