A&M travles less than Texas, so I'm not sure I understand your comparison
Total miles yes, but you now longer go the 90 minutes to Waco or Austin, or the few hours to TCU (now that they're in the conference), or even the very driveable trip to Lubbock. It won't matter to you or I, but I know it does to the students.

The Arkansas/A&M game will be played in Dallas, every year starting in 2014 as well.

And I'm sure they will renew the rivalry between tu and A&M in the next couple of years, meaning a trip to Austin every other year as well.

I hope so. Personally, I miss the game already. I grew up in Austin with cousins in Hearne/College Station. From 1970-1977, I never missed a game, home or away.

A&M has already committed to playing Arkansas in Dallas and LSU on turkey day. I do not think the Texas and Texas A&M game will happen again for 5 years or so.

So far A&M has played okay but the big games are in front of them. LSU, MSU, Auburn, and Alabama are the real test. At this point I think Alabama and MSU are the toughest gamesas LSU and Auburn are having off years.

Being bowl eligible the first year with a new coach, new offense and defense schemes, and new/freshman QB is a good start. I don't think A&M will have a problem being competitive but they did have a better chance to win a national championship if they stayed in the Big 12.

The SEC has yet to finalize any schedules beyond 2012. LSU/A&M will play this year on Thanksgiving, but there is a lot up in the air at this point going into the future.

You are right, SEC has not finalized the games. There was a lot of talk about LSU on Thanksgiving but nothing set in stone. LSU and A&M are playing each other Oct. 20 this year, no Thanksgiving day game. Personally I don't like Thanksgiving day games, rather fall asleep watching pro ball and go to the game the next day.

UT's ooc schedule is pretty much set through 2018 i think, so it will at least be after that before Texas and aggy even think about playing each other again. Of course, there is always the chance in somebody backing out.

about the game, thought the defense tackled better but my god can they get someone back their better than Phillips to play free safety??? Two td passes he was suppose to have inside help for Byndom but didn't get over in time. The second one especially should've been picked if he had his head out of his ass. Linebackers are still way out of position somehow even though Diaz himself is the LB coach, don't understand that one. Thought the Dline played really well and was able to get pressure on Smith.

I think Diaz needs to stop with all this "exotic" bullshit on defense which constantly has players out of position when the ball is snapped and go with a plain vanilla straight up defense. Getting really tired of seeing this crap out of the D.

I swear at times in the second half i was watching Greg Davis call plays it was so conservative, which was extremely aggravating. Should've kept on doing in the second that he was doing in the first half, which i thought was good. Ash played good and i'm excited about him being the QB for the Longhorns. I think Gray should be THE MAN from here on out. Tired of seeing them trying to use Bergeron up the middle so much when Espinosa can't drive his man off the line and they only get 2-3 yards.

And here's where i thought Texas messed up. Thought they tried to run clock way too much instead of just trying to score. Those of you saying Texas couldn't keep up are just plain wrong. I think if they just went score for score and got that timely stop they win that game. Got tired of watching them try and run the ball up the middle on first AND second down. Harsin should've gone for the score on first down after that turnover which gave them the ball on the 12 yard line. If you don't get it on the first two downs, THEN ask Fera where he wants it and run it there. Thought that drive wasn't handle very well at all.

Didn't understand that Texas was playing the 118th pass defense in the nation and they wanted to run the ball all game long. They didn't take what the D was giving them and it bit them in the ass.

This loss really sucks cause they had a chance to win and couldn't capitalize, but it was a good game and i enjoyed watching it.

Sorry for the ramble, busy at work and just throwing thoughts out there.

                  on to OUsucks

You're entitled to your opinion, I don't agree with your opinion. I hold that it was a logical move to change the future for A&M. It makes sense seeing that the SEC has been so successful in football especially and allows for a recruiting angle not offered by our old rivals such as UT, TT, Baylor, OU, etc.

Do not forget the possibility of a bowl game matchup.

I think WVU is simply the better team. UT is a very good team but this game reminded me a lot of the game UT played in the fall of 05 at the U when they faced off against Ohio St., that night Vince Young played a full 4 quarters of intelligent agressive football. Fast forward to 2012 Gino Smith played a full 4 quarters of intelligent aggressive football, no forced plays, no interceptions 4 TD's and Andrew Buie was great as well.

Also I think the biggest mistake UT has made is letting Will Muschamp get away.

True, but i don't think WVU goes undefeated, i think it's between them and K state to win the big12.

It's funny you mention Muschamp. Reading the message boards the same people that were so glad Texas got rid of him watching last year are now claiming Texas never should've let him go. Funny how winning makes that happen.

Just imagine if Colt never got hurt against Alabama and Texas actually won that game. Rumors had it that Mack was going to retire going out on top and Muschamp would've taken over. Something to think about.

                            • Mack's ego is too big to step down, he'll die at the reigns of that team, which is why Muschamp left. He was promised he'd take over when Mack stepped down, that's an awesome promise if you were sure Mack was ever going to step down.

When I've watched the past few games, I'm not even sure they even turn Mack's headset on during the games anymore, sometimes it feels like he's just an old male cheerleader down on the sidelines

                                I somewhat agree, Matt

His headset is on to listen to Harsin and Diaz call the plays, but i have this odd feeling that Mack had his grubby little hands involved in the play calling when the offense went very conservative saturday night.
