How to explain NHL lockout to your non-hockey friends

Yeah - I'm a bad fan. Quit checking until I saw CWO's post come in via email. The season is done - officially or not.

I will not spend a dime on hockey for a couple of years at least. I will watch the NHL channel when games resume and all that. But I am done spending so much on tickets and gear to let them know if they piss off the fans they don't get as much money.

Our city just got a Federal Hockey League team so I am pumped. They play outdoors on the baseball field for our minor baseball team. Should be fun, especially when it starts snowing to watch them.

According to a few sources a deal might be done, and is expected to be announced within the next 48 hours. Earlier Buttman said he wanted a deal done by Friday or the season is definitely over.

Negotiations have broke off. NHL rejected PAs offer and have removed offers of their own.

No future talks planned.
