It could have turned out to be a bad situation with all that money wrapped up in one guy. Be happy he's in the NL now and we just don't have to worry about him.

To some people there are things in this world more important than money
Early speculation has it that he made the choice based on his son, his son's illness, the world class oncology doctors at Philly's chidren's hospital and having a doctor they are comfortable with.
Still think he's a Lebron-style cunt?Last edited by Strychnine; 12-14-2010, 07:23 AM.

Comparing him to Lebron, seriously? Cleveland raised Lebron, he was a standout in high school and had a huge fan base before the Cavs drafted him. He was the closest thing the city had to a saviour and he thumbed his nose at them for a little more money.
Lee was a rental player from the day the Phillies sent him to the Mariners. I'm glad he was here and he had a major impact on the young pitching staff, while helping get us to the World Series. I hope he completely murders everyone in the NL for the next 5 year. I really don't want to see the Giants again.

Sucks to see him go, but I'm glad they didn't spend that much money on him for that length of time. We were in 1st place last year without him. We still would have won the division, I just don't think we make it past Tampa w/o him. Our staff really didn't suck...so we'll be fine. I think the pitchers that were on the team last year benefited from seeing him work. Now lets just hope the Rangers don't trade the farm for Greinke.

I can understand being upset, but comparing him to LeBron? Reports state that TX offered 7/$155 million. $55 million is a lot to leave on the table. This decision quite obviously wasn't about money. LeBron would have gone to the Yanks for 7/$160.
What a heartbreaker though. The entire staff was convinced he'd be back here. At least they have dough to spend, the problem is, where are they going to spend it? Nobody left really, and like someone else mentioned, KC isn't interested in anything the Rangers have to offer.Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.

I just saw this today and my first panicked feeling was the surprise team was the Angels. I am just glad he left for the NL. We will be fine without him. I like Greinke but lets not give away the farm for him. There will be some options at the trade deadline next year. The Rangers have a ton of flexibility left now without Lee commanding 25% of their payroll
