Ryan saw something in Elam too. I was for the Elam pickup when it took place, but he fucking sucked last season. I'm just not ready to say it was a good pickup yet.

And 4 INT's and 10 passes defended isn't impressive to me. That's average at best. And downright disappointing for a S taken that high in the draft.

Elam still had to play with the rest of that suck secondary, I think this year they are shaping up to be pretty decent and actually addressing the problems. They don't have the money really to go after a big safety, but I could see them looking to the draft for a rookie that they could mold.

I don't disagree, but too many times last season, Elam wasn't where he was supposed to be. Yes, the rest of the secondary sucked. But he blew plenty coverage plenty of times too.

Yeah, I remember more of it being CBs dropping coverage, more than him missing coverage.

But I'll agree, there was a lot of miscommunication on that defense, especially in the secondary, no doubt. Hell most of the time he didn't see much action on the field because they were throwing towards Newman's weak ass.

I could be wrong, but them picking up Pool is the writing on the wall IMO. Unless of course, they can keep Elam for >$1M. But even still, I don't see it.


I'm still pissed about them letting Fiametta become a UFA too. Cowboys have a running game for the first time in a decade, and it's all because of the FB. He's due $1.26, so they let him go? Are you fucking kidding me?

Thanks, I just spent the last few minutes on DC.com looking to where he went. I saw that he is a UFA, so he could be gone, but I think he will work better with what we have now. Two people were fucking up most of the defense last year, Campo and Newman. Now that those two morons are gone, we will be better I believe...

See I think it's a ploy to let Elam fish for money, then come back begging for a reduced deal due to lack of performance.

I agree with Fiametta too, but if he feels he deserves more money, let him go out there and see what he's worth. They signed Vickers for a reason, and I think that's for cap space.

They only saved what, $260,000? For that little amount, I'd have stuck with what they knew worked.

Saved money, I mean he's out fishing to see what he's worth, and they obviously agree he's worth more, just not to them. I guess they think someone is going to offer him a pretty good deal that they can't match. However if no one does, they might bring him back and keep two FBs?
