Unfortunately no. They claimed to have interest in Manning but either they were blowing smoke or he is not interested. The GM has a man crush on Cassel since they are both Patriots alum so I don't see a change there until his contract is up. If the Chiefs can grab OT Eric Winston that was released by the Texans I will be ecstatic. Routt, Winston, and Hillis is a good free agent haul. Charles and Hillis in the backfield will be impressive.

BTW, Jerry way overpaid for Carr. KC signed Routt as a replacement for less than half the money and there stats are almost identical. Carr was very will liked in KC but he was demanding #1 CB money and he is not a #1. He will be a solid corner but not worth $10mil a year unless he steps up his game considerably. Kyle Orton is a great pickup for backup QB. I am sorry to see the Chiefs lose him since he played better than Cassel.

You are right, you do build a team in the draft and add the complimentary pieces through FA. That is our whole problem. Since Parcells left, there has not really been a quality draft class. maybe last years will pan out since we got a good tackle, but that is still up for debate.

The bottom line is, Jerry pays too much for these guys when they have 1 good season and destroys any hopes of adding quality FA's in the future.

So to recap, bad coaching plus a piss-poor owner means a SHITTY ASS Cowboys team.

I don't agree, this is Routt's 8th year, and his stats have been less than consistant.
