If they get the deal with Carr done, I suppose they will be ok. They could sign a mediocre FA guard, or address in the draft, 3rd round or below.

They need to spend the first rounder on a pass rusher, 2nd on a safety, and the rest can be addressed with little issue, I think. Of course, that could flip flop depending on talent and how the players go. I also say they need another stud corner, but it isn't going to happen this year. Another reason they should have let Scandrick's deal expire last season. The $10 million fine from the NFL is fucking them too, and that's complete bullshit that they were fined. What the FUCK does a "uncapped" year mean, when they are going to fine you for the moves they make? If I was Snyder I'd have kicked Goodell's ass already. Literally. Redskins really got raw dogged on that deal.

You are right, you do build a team in the draft and add the complimentary pieces through FA. That is our whole problem. Since Parcells left, there has not really been a quality draft class. maybe last years will pan out since we got a good tackle, but that is still up for debate.

The bottom line is, Jerry pays too much for these guys when they have 1 good season and destroys any hopes of adding quality FA's in the future.

So to recap, bad drafts plus poor FA options means a SHITTY ASS Cowboys team.
