if you think shanahan is in complete control in Washington, you haven't been paying attention to mini jj. I think that owner may be worse than jerry about just throwing money around. That trade reakes of the owner falling in love and doing everything he can to overpay for RG3.

I think that the 49ers are content with Alex Smith until Kaepernick(sp?) is ready to start. He was drafted to be the next guy, and after Smith's performance last year I doubt they will mess with their QB situation.

Smith will never be the Man in San Fran, he was horrible against The New York Giants, so many opertunities and not much too show for it. Folks didn't like Garcia, how can anyone like Smith....

I think it's more that they're waiting for Kaepernick or whatever his name is to be ready to take over. He was drafted pretty high, so it would seem that they just need someone to hold down the fort until he's given the starting job. Harbaugh kept Smith around last season, and they got pretty far. So they would have to find someone better than Smith that is willing to only be their starter for a year or two. I would imagine that it would just be easier to let Smith start until Kaepernick is ready.

The Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals, the first two teams Manning visited, are considered his two likeliest landing spots, according to sources familiar with the situation.


The Seattle Seahawks continue to try to arrange a meeting with Manning, according to sources, but so far they have been unable to do so.


Manning still could wind up meeting with the Dolphins, but indications are that Miami isn't as high on his list as Denver and Arizona.


There always is the possibility another team suddenly jumps into the fray, the sources said, but it is looking increasingly likely there are only a few viable possibilities at this time.


One source who spoke with Manning prior to his visit with the Cardinals said "his gut is that Manning is leaning toward Denver."


The Broncos' advantages include Manning's relationship with executive vice president of football operations John Elway and coach John Fox and the fact that joining them would keep him in the AFC, where he has played all his professional football with the Colts.

If you think about the playoff run that Denver had. Defense was playing their asses off and waiting for the offense to move the ball all the time. Imagine with that defense and manning moving the ball you have a pretty solid team. Don't they have 3 players suspended for the first four games next year, one being DJ Williams?

Clsoe, 2 for 6 games, 1 for 4. DJ was hit or miss on if he would be productive. He had his moments.

I would be happy with Manning going to Denver. They would be a pretty bad ass team with a QB like Peyton, and that killer D. It would also help Tebow in the long run. After sitting behind Manning for a few years, I bet Tebow would look like a whole new QB when he gets his next shot to be a starter.

If I had to place a bet on where I think Manning is going I will have to say Miami. They need a QB, they've been trying to get rid of Henne in the last few years. Also they could get Reggie Wayne as well if he wants to go where Manning is. If not Miami then somoene else in the AFC.

That's funny how the team Manning will be playing for next season isn't even on that list. He'll be signed by Tuesday morning.

I retract my statement but still firmly believe Manning will sign with the Denver Broncos today. No other team has what Denver has to offer..... John Elway. He is what will seal the deal and has already told Peyton what it takes to win Super Bowls not playoffs victories and right now is the time to do so. Let Manning run the offense while two very good defensive minded coaches run that orange crush defense in Jack Del Rio and John Fox. Denver is about to be one of the front runners over the next few years in the AFC.

I'm baffled at the Titans push for Peyton though...... Bud Adams is willing to write Manning a blank check to join the team. Still, I believe Manning isn't broke and wants to win Super Bowls.
