  • How many balls is Andrus going to hit a foot foul to that corner this year?

The Rangers also seem to think they need a bat/some more bench players. Why not hold onto Olt and bring him up for the second half and see if he can't contribute on a spot-start basis?
The only reason I could imagine them not doing that is fear of hurting his confidence (sounds crazy, but what other reason could they have). I don't think they need another bat, I think they need a few players to break out of the late summer swoon. I really had high hopes of finally seeing another triple crown winner. Everyone knew Hamilton couldn't maintain the pace he set early on, but damn it was fun to watch!

What would you do with Beltre? An unproven Olt isn't worth giving up a high valuable offensive and defensive weapon in Beltre at this point in the season. The beginning of the year is when you want to play around with that kind of stuff. Unless you move him to outfield and bench Hamilton.
How do we forget ourselves? How do we forget our minds?

Bring up Olt as a bench guy and use him to get Beltre some rest down the stretch

Not to bench Beltre at all. Bring him in to give a few dudes off days down the stretch. The Rangers don't have much on the bench in the way of infielders. And with the way the offense is playing, even if Olt doesn't perform you're not losing a lot.

Didn't see it, so I can't respond. Knowing you, I'm sure it wasn't flattering.

                  • Hey TAG... Does anyone really care about the food/ cookies/ brownies you get each day?

Other than the people that send it there, I would bet there is 20 that do not care.

                    Sorry. Rant off.

That's what Young is for. Every game counts now, especially with an offense struggling to even put up a few runs a game.

So don't take any chances that someone might be able to come in late and contribute? Bet you're wishing the Angles used that logic with Trout, lol

Young is great, but there is nothing wrong with bolstering your bench late in the season.

Just ribbin' you. Dude was way too excited to be on camera. On second thought, he declared that we're going back to the World Series, so he was a poor choice to represent you.

At this time, I don't see a series in the near future.

Hamilton just hit #29. Nice. Maybe he's coming back.

I'm not going to comment either way on the series, but it's not happening if the offense doesn't pull it together. We have this ragtag pitching staff that's performing far better than I think could be expected given the circumstances and the offense is just pissing it away.

That said, if these are the results that they achieve when the offense is completely stagnant, then the rest of the season could be very promising given that they do in fact figure it out offensively.
