It wasn't because of the All-Star Game, and it doesn't mean I think they should just "throw in the towel." But the way they're playing compared to Detroit, New York, Chicago... and Minnesota?

I don't disagree on the last bit, but it's little early for the tone here to be so ominous. They haven't been playing as well as the other upper-echelon teams, but I think they're also perfectly capable of playing as well or better.

Whether not they do will be seen as mentioned below:

I believe this coming road trip, beginning tomorrow, will give us a good indication of where the Rangers are.

On a related note, Ogando is expected to be ready next week. Feliz has his first rehab start (two-innings) on Sunday and will be stretched out. Wash will have some decisions to make here in the next few weeks.

Also just ran into a little tidbit that the Diamondbacks are looking to unload Justin Upton, and the Rangers have been listed as likely trading candidates. He's signed through 2015, so it could be a decent move long term, especially if Hamilton were to bolt. Unfortunately, the move would have to be now, and we won't know Hamilton's status until after the season.

Speculation suggests they want Profar and/or Olt, though, and the Rangers aren't unloading Profar anytime soon.

Don't think that anything will come of it, but it's an interesting thought to mull over anyway.

Finally back to business tonight. Rangers need to start the 2nd half strong. Angels look like they're gonna be the Yanks tonight already.

You'll never catch me rooting for the Yanks...but they came up with 4 in the bottom of the 8th to beat the Halos. Teixeira had 2HR for the Yanks tonight. The Yanks started their rally after CJ Wilson came out of the game.
