IMO, best case for Texas is playing Baltimore in the ALDS (and best cases for that are Texas winning the West, NY winning the East, and Baltimore winning the wildcard game or Texas winning the West, Baltimore winning the East, and Oakland winning the wildcard; otherwise, it's Texas vs NY in the wildcard).

Yeah, but the 2 wildcard teams will still be the 2 wildcard teams. It's a race between the East and West division champs for best record.

It'll be #1 division winner vs wildcard winner/Detroit (if division winner and wildcard winner are from the same division)
and
#2 division winner vs wildcard winner/Detroit (if #2 division winner and wildcard winner are from the same division)
