      • Moreland made some damn good defensive plays last night that were a little overshadowed due to his 'slammer. If he can sustain his level of play, it will be hard to bench him. It's been a long time since Texas had a 1st baseman that hit .285 with power and a great glove.

It's funny you just posted this. I was coming here to post after I finished looking over Chris Davis' stats and Moreland's and was comparing plate appearances per homer and rbi. Davis is right at 20 and Moreland is at 17 in the HR category. Then I projected out Moreland's production over 600 ABs. It comes out to 35 HR and 101 RBI. I don't think of Moreland as a power guy, but he's certainly got it and I would take those projected numbers and a .285 avg out of a 1B guy any day. I warmed up to Moreland when he did well in the playoffs a couple years ago, but I'm definitely becoming a bigger fan of his.

You remind me of mush from "a Bronx tale".

                    • Why is Tanner Scheppers still on this team? I haven't followed him too closely, but I don't remember a time where he hasn't gotten in deep shit and have to have someone else bail him out, or gives up runs. Granted, we had plenty to allow yesterday, but Christ Almighty.

All I can come up with is he is an arm to waste during the regular season to keep the rest of the bullpen fresh in non-game deciding situations.

                        • ESPN is reporting that the Red Sox are close to a deal to send Beckett, Adrian Gonzalez, and Carl Crawford (and Nick Punto) to the Dodgers. What the fucking fuck?!

It's on the ticker. They had already placed Gonzalez on waivers, and the Dodgers were apparently the most likely candidate, but I don't think anyone expected it to happen. That's a serious fucking liquidation.

They are trying to get rid of all the bullshit in the dugout.

Expect Bobby V to be next.
