    Comment

    • Well, at least the A's and the Angels lost also.

Terrible way to end the game.
      Some cars and a bike...

Some say... they have been raced, some a lot

All I've seen is that it's "shoulder soreness"

        • Still don't understand why Wash had Andrus bunt with Olt on 3rd with no outs. You have three chances with three of your best hitters to get a run in, and you decide to hinge the run on one pitch.

I get that it's normally a high percentage play with Elvis up there, but there's just way too little room for error in that situation.

I agree, Elvis has been hitting really well, and MY has been doing better as well. Why not give them the chance.

All they would have had to do was hit a decent fly ball or knock a crappy grounder past an infield that was pulled it.

yup, with no outs give it a shot. If there had been one out I could maybe have seen it.

                  • Yeah the bunt/steal home was painful to watch. I don't rarely ever feel this way, but I think Washington gave that game away.

It was a suicide squeeze, not a steal of home. On a suicide squeeze, the runner is off with the pitch and the batter HAS to make contact (either foul it off where it can't be caught or get the bunt down). If he pops it up and it's caught, it's an easy double play; if he misses it, the runner runs into the tag. But if he gets it down, there's no way the defense can get the runner at home. So, it's a good play when it works, but it takes a batter that can bunt and a pitch that can be bunted. It was just dumb to do it when the game was on the line with a runner on third, nobody out, and the top of the order up.

I meant SS. I'm still miffed about the whole scenario. Washington's decisions didn't help at all, either.

                        • I've been reading that Oswalt refused to come out and pitch after he threw for 2 innings. Washington wanted him to pitch a third inning but he refused and wasn't in the clubhouse after the game to answer questions...

                          • Just what they need. A prima donna in the pitching staff. He's pissed because of his demotion to the pen. What a self-centered prick.

Maybe he should have pitched better, and he would still have his rotation spot.
