They've been promoting the piss out of it on The Ticket for the last week or two.

Probably being that it's the national spotlight on a very local football program. I haven't seen any of the Ticket guys interviewed, though I'm only getting bits and pieces. But they have had Bayless, Hansen, Galloway, and several other local sports writers on.

Fantastic! Maybe this one meant a little more to me growing up following SMU in the 80's. I didn't know all the ins and outs back then and this really painted the picture in detail.

I'm reminded of sermon in Church (I was Methodist) during the undefeated SMU season. SMU had run a kickoff back to win a game (or maybe it was the game they tied that year) and the pastor had used it as proof God was Methodist.

Weird this happened to air after Cam Newton won the Heisman. The NCAA has proven they moved on from being the "keepers of integrity" to the money whores they are today.

Watched it this morning. I missed the last 10 minutes or so, but it was good none the less. Interesting to see how they had so many opportunities to stop. Also was interesting to see Dickerson not wanting to tell alot about how he decided to go to SMU. What would it matter? It was 20+ years ago. This didn't help Craig James look like less of a douche either. Meyers got out for obvious reasons and he probably had more of a hand in it then any of us could realize.

Hanson must have been a pimp back then with his barely shaven stache and mullet hair. That might have been the most enjoyable thing. Seeing how far down he has gone. He must of actually been an investigative reporter at one point, shocker.

lol, he's a fucking sportscaster. How far down he has gone? What does that mean? Do you really blame him for not having anything more monumental on his resume than the exposing of one of the biggest controversies in modern sports history?

It means he went from actually investigating something to just wanting to bash on anyone he feels would be a fun thing to do. He has made a career out of bashing every bad move the Cowboys have made since Jerry Jones took over. His rants at the end of the sports section of the show are just ways for him to expand that big head of his even more.

                I just don't like him.

i played against a guy that was recruited by SMU back in 1980-81. this guy was a runningback and played for Pittsburg High Scool in East Texas and was a badass. he lived with grandmother and was dirt poor. he went off to SMU and the very next time i saw him, he was driving a brand new 1982 Trams Am.

i had forgotten a lot about this and can't wait to watch it again.

i found it really really fascinating.

It sure didnt make me like Craig James though. What a doucher.

It also made me think of how low it was for Houston to run up the score 95 to 21 using trick plays. Very unsportsmanlike.

It was really interesting to see how mighty the SWC was, but at the same time how fragile. All it took was one domino to fall and then everyone bolted.

Definitely one of the better ones I've watched. I feel kind of bad for SMU in a way, a lot of my research for my last major paper about UTA's football team getting the axe had to do with the SWC and SMU in the 80's. It's not like they weren't really doing anything that anyone else in the SWC was already doing as part of their recruiting, they just got called on it. I think 30 for 30 did a good job highlighting that aspect. All in all a well put together docu. I enjoyed the highlight of the Hawaii bowl at the end.

I love how they said the football player’s parking lot was a W.O. Bankston dealership. LOL

And leave it to fucking ESPN to make their own employee Craig James look completely clean. He may have been worried about how Dickerson’s signing may have looked to the NCAA at the time but that son of a bitch definitely didn't go to SMU just for pussy (his girlfriend/future wife).

I swear that guy is a real piece of work . . . and shit.
