I say Condit wins from a fight stoppage due to a cut.

I too can't root for Diaz, no matter how good of a fighter he is. I hope condit takes him out.

For me, that thug mentality has no place in the sport, it's just bad all the way around. Same goes or any sport, not just mma. That being said, I guess it is true, fame and money can't teach class, and for some, neither can martial arts.

I lost almost all of my respect for gsp after the whole oiling up deal. It's a cheap way to win, and in the end, he should always have an asterisk next to those wins.

Everyone has their own opinions, some will argue that Silva is PfP the best in MMA/UFC but Chael Sonnen whipped his ass for 5 rounds, well 4 7/8, to me no one has dominated GSP like that in a very long time.

This coming from Mr.Submision himself, I'm suprised to hear you say that Steve. And we both know what MMA means, its far different than Muy Thai boxing, what ever it take to win, you use the entire mixed martial arts system, imo...

That's a good point. Diaz has a TON of scar tissue in his face and is easily cut at this point of his career.

This subject comes up quite often lately with the sport getting so big. I completely understand your viewpoint, BUT I still try to keep in mind these guys are fighters. Not all of them can be an articulate, intelligent fighter like Rich Franklin who comes from a professional background or the highly intelligent fighter like Frank Mir.

Some of these guys, like Nick/Nate Diaz, couldn't be anything other than fighters with their mentalities. Some people expect MMA fighters to be like the old school boxing gentlemen's fighters. But in todays world, hype sells fights. Interesting characters sell PPV's. All of these guys know this and it's even encouraged by Dana White himself.

As for GSP and Greasegate, I agree with you completely. Now, like alot of fighters gets around the greasing thing by heavily lotioning their bodies everyday. So when they sweat, all of the grease comes out of their pores underneath the hot lights in the octagon.

why the change of heart? I actually like the Diaz brothers and agree Nick is one of the hardest working guys in the sport.

Wait a minute, so Dana White actually wanted Diaz to miss those press conferences without telling anyone and was totally ok with it? LMAO, sure Steve, sure

Well, thats why the BJJ stuff is so funny. Anyone who has trained with me will tell you I'm a far better striker than a submission guy. I just happen to love submissions/BJJ because it's a live chess match. Plus it's a way to spar at almost 100% speed and power and you can control how much damage you can do to your opponent, unlike striking. I have yet to have anyone to stand there and just take one of my leg kicks.

Another point is that with BJJ, you're actually finishing your opponents. Wrestlers like GSP just hold people down to control them on judges points cards.

Now that we've had a much better look into Diaz and his personality, I can't help but cheer for the guy. He has an unmatched work ethic in MMA, no one works as hard as he does, which is very un"thug" like. On his days off the guy does triathlons. lol. Plus he loves it for the pureness of the combat itself and that I respect very much. I think he's much more intelligent than he is given credit for, but he clearly has a severe social disorder. He really needs to get into his own head to make himself hate the other guy in order to fight. I've personally never had to do that, to me it's no different than doing any other hobby like driving a car. No thought to it, just get in the car and drive.

To add to it, I've got MUCH less respect now after watching GSP defend his title now. He doesn't get in the ring to fight, he just gets in there to do what it takes to get the win. For me, that takes away the reason for doing it in the first place, to test yourself. And what GSP does isn't testing himself in the arena of combat, but rather concentrating on not losing, rather than trying to defeat his opponent. That's not the spirit of a warrior.

Well, you're twisting what I am saying and you know it. Did he want Diaz to miss them? No, of course not. But he does love Diaz's fuck the world attitude when he's in fight mode preparing. White has the same attitude when it comes to business, they are kindred spirits. Hype builds fights. When Diaz fights or does interviews, everyone watches just to see what he's going to say or do. Love him or hate him, you will watch him cuz you know he's going to bring the fight. But that attitude has to be backed up with talent. If that wasn't true, Koscheck would be champ with all the shit he talks. lol.

GSP has the skills, he shouldn't have to be the aggressor hes the champ and in MMA sometime thats not a good thing, he also uses his skills to over match his opponent that might not have a certain skill set...

I disagree with that completely. Look at Jon Jones, that guy takes it to everybody because he can. He wants to beat his opponent. GSP just does what it takes to keep the gold. It's lame.

The champ shouldn't go there with the attitude of doing what it takes to keep the gold. He should go out there with the attitude "I'm the champ and here is why" and dominate in championship form. The champion should be pushing everyone to be better and take the gold from him at his highest level and not playing defensive nonsense. Leave that boring bullshit to boxing.

So, with that argument, you could say his defensive "nonsense" is his highest level. It's his championship ability. Maybe he's pushing people to be better defenders and beat his defensiveness?

LOL... this is hilarious. I've made these same comments about a few fights, including the Horn/Liddell fight and the alleged upper eschillon of greaseball armchair warriors went ape shit crazy telling me how I had no idea what I was talking about.
