Think about it. If your offense is blowing out everyone, then your defense is dealing with offenses that are trying to catch up. When you have an offense like GB, NO, and NE, then your defense has to deal with the other team constantly throwing the ball. The game gets accelerated, playbooks are opened up more and those defenses see everything the other team has to offer.

that being said, I still like New Orleans defense more than GB's.

Do you remember the outcome of the very first game of the 2011 season?

Green Bay's defense won the battle.

You could look at it that way. Not going to argue that.

Has Woodson come back for GB yet?

McCarthy rested him for the Lions game, but physically he could have played. Having the extra weeks off for him will really help the cause. He'll be more than ready to face the 2nd round opponent.

He may end up being the difference.

I think we are going to find out in the NFC Championship game.

If it is anything like the first game of the season it'll be an absolute thriller.

Solid point and I agree. Not only are you going to get each teams best game being the defending Super Bowl Champs, but when you're offense is putting up a lot of points the other team starts getting nervous about the game becoming out of reach and it becomes an aerial death match between them. Makes for great games to watch as fans/spectators, but takes a hell of a toll on the secondary, physically, when 85%+ of the plays are pass.

It doesn't really matter why they are last, just that they are. They get scored on but it doesn't matter because the offense is so powerful. It used to be the defense was so powerful the opponent offense couldn't do anything and their offense would get a few points here and there. Is defense over?

What happens when the number one offense plays the number one defense?

that has only happened once in the Super Bowl, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl 37. Bucs had #1 defense, Raiders had #1 offense

Don't they both force turnovers though? You can give up as many yards as you want, but if you're good at getting the ball back or holding a team to 3 instead of 6, you're probably gonna win.

I personally think if a defense can't pick up offensives mistakes (nobody is perfect right?) It is too much of a gamble to build a super heavy offensive team, but packers and pats are making it hard to to argue that point.

Should the Cowboys build a similar set up? If so should we count on Romo?
