We are going to need a serious youth infusion / overhaul in the very near future.

Getting D-Will to come home next year would be huge. Kidd is gonna retire, JJ isn't coming back, we dont need to see JET at the point again, and god knows if Roddy or the other kid can actually play.

Getting Dwight Howard would be huge, because he's the only true center in the league, but we can be competitive (and champions) without him.

The New York Knicks have reached an agreement with Tyson Chandler on a new contract that will be signed this afternoon once the NBA officially allows transactions, according to The New York Times. In order to make room for that deal, the Kicks are expected to use their amnesty clause to waive point guard Chauncey Billups.

“It will be finished today,” a person involved with the transactions told The Times.

Under the NBA’s new amnesty clause, Billups will still receive the money he is owed on his contract, $14.2 million, however that total will no longer count against the Knicks’ salary cap. This move is expected to help make room for Chandler, who will sign a contract that is believed to be worth $58 million over four years.

Under the rules of the new collective bargaining agreement, teams will soon be allowed to place bids on Billups during the amnesty waiver process.

Last season for the Dallas Mavericks, Chandler averaged 10.1 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. Billups, while splitting time between the Knicks and the Denver Nuggets, averaged 16.8 points and 5.4 assists per game.

i read where the vc deal was suppost to be done by saturday, maybe there is a hangup or idk. if only it was 2000.

I see that he's supposed to be in town tomorrow, but don't know if he'll sign in time to make practice.

I also see the Tyson Chandler deal is now working out to be a sign and trade deal with the Knicks...where the Knicks get Chandler and the Mavs get a trade exception and a 2012 2nd round pick from the Washington Wizards. Mavs are thought to be using the trade exception to go after Samuel Dalembert.

I'm thinking the main thing Dallas is trying to do is bring in Howard and Williams. I believe they are just getting it worked out so it can happen.
