The only good that i could see coming from an Oswalt signing would him being a part time rotation guy and mentor to the young pitchers. Between pitching more often and the summer heat, I think Darvish/Feliz(not necessarily the heat for Feliz) are going to need some breaks down the stretch. And Roy could spot start and be effective. I wouldn't break the bank for him and if there was a 2nd year - it would be a club option..

Granted, Warsh has got us to the series 2 years in a row, I think the Rangers record would be better with another manager. I can't stand how he manages the pitching staff. Can't argue with the results, but it doesn't mean I have to like/agree with his decisions.

The St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers are pursuing Roy Oswalt, but the Baltimore Orioles ultimately could decide where the free-agent righthander lands.
In order to fit Oswalt into their 2012 payroll, the Cardinals likely will have to shed some salary. In an effort to do so, they have been shopping righthander Kyle McClellan to the Orioles. However, The Baltimore Sun reports the Cardinals’ asking price is too high.
The Rangers aren’t believed to be dealing with quite as tight a budget, but they also have had trade discussions with the Orioles about reliever Koji Uehara. Uehara was dealt from Baltimore to Texas before last season’s nonwaiver trading deadline, but the Rangers would like to unload him and his $4 million salary. The Baltimore Sun reports the Orioles also have balked at the asking price in trade talks with the Rangers.
The Rangers met Monday with Oswalt, who has had an ongoing dialogue with the Cardinals. He is believed to be seeking a one-year contract worth $10 million, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Oswalt, 34, went 9-10 with a 3.69 ERA in 23 starts for the Philadelphia Phillies last season, but he missed about six weeks because of a back injury. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports the Rangers have concerns about Oswalt’s durability as well as his motivation to pitch for them.Originally posted by talismanI wonder if there will be a new character that specializes in bjj and passive agressive comebacks?Originally posted by AdamLXIf there was, I wouldn't pick it because it would probably just keep leaving the game and then coming back like nothing happened.Originally posted by BroncojohnnyBecause fuck you, that's whyOriginally posted by 80coupenice dick, Idrivea4bangerOriginally posted by Rick Modena......and idrivea4banger is a real person.Originally posted by JesterMan ive always wanted to smoke a bowl with you.
