Yeah, the Phillies and Yankees were the top 2 IIRCA well-rounded team with no starting pitching. Last year they were a well-rounded team with no bullpen.

The Cards have Carpenter but he wasn't that hot in LCS either. Take Carpenter and CJ out of the equation and we have far better pitching the rest of the way. They have some dangerous bats but nothing worse than the Cabrera/Martinez/Young combination we just beat. Busch Stadium also should help add some runs to our bottom line. Beltre had at least 3 long pop flys at Comerica that'd be homeruns at Busch.

Yeah but the Cards starting pitching isnt exactly lighting it up either, if I am remembering correctly they didnt have a starter get outta the 5th inning in the NLCS. Their bullpen is good, ours is better. Their hitters are good, ours are better.

Our starting pitching pitched VERY well in the regular season, now in the postseason what you did in the regular season doesnt mean shit BUT it does show that they are capable of pitching lights out. I look for them to be much better than in the ALDS and ALCS. On that same note though, I think Carpenter will be much better than in the NLCS as well.
