Cliff Lee was impressive in the ALDS and ALCS. They needed a guy that could come out and snap a 9 game postseason losing streak, on the road against the AL East champs. Then they needed a guy that could come back and win Game 5, and they needed a guy that could beat Pettite in a pivotal game in Yankee Stadium.
