The second at bat of the game. Elvis hit a roller past first, Pujols fielded it, and Carpenter covered the bag with his shoulder and face, just as Elvis was coming into first. I was hoping Carpenter broke his shoulder, but he kept pitching.

Ahh. I caught highlights after the game and saw the pitch that hit assholes in the foot and was hoping it might have broken it.

What i don't get is the hit, by Berkman, in the bottom of the fourth. The hit that got them the first two runs. When looking at the replay, the ball hit foul then came back in. I just want to clarify that it was a good call or not?

Yes, good call.

Yeah. It doesn't matter where it starts or where it's been, only where it is when it is touched or passes the base (for ground balls).

Better pitching than Florida? Verlander/Detroit? The other Rangers got 6 hits, so it's not like they're facing Koufax or anything. Is an 0-4 injured Hamilton better than a healthy Gentry?

Yeah, I'm going to say Carpenter is as good or better than anything those guys had, and he's got the advantage of unfamiliarity.

the only thing i saw was berkman's strike call for a foul tip but he never swung. catcher dropped it.

The umpire called it a strike. It might've been a little outside but it was close. Pitchers usually don't get borderline calls when the catcher drops it, though.

as long as it is fair before it crosses first/third base it is fair. Any ball going foul can come back fair before that point. The TV out here is really fuzzy so I didnt catch tht play

Something that hasn't been mentioned, is that the ball off of Beltre's foot looked like it hit the foul portion of the batter's box before it went into play.

Yeah that was an absolutely terrible call. I realize that when not in slomo it is very hard to tell if it went off his foot, but when the batter is hopping around in obvious pain I think it is no brainer. Thats just me though

By the way, not having a DH kills the game for me. Even though it was CJ, I didn't like him pitching around the #8 guy to get to Carpenter. It's one reason ERA's tend to be lower in the NL.

Hamilton had a very good ALCS at the plate and great series defensively, did he hit for power? no but he got hits when we needed them despite the injury. So yes I think an injured Hamilton is better than Gentry, this was their Ace and unlike Wilson he is a true ace. The rest of their staff will not get the same results against this lineup Hamilton included.

I see the bats coming alive in game 2 and we tie going back to Arlington. Was it just the shitty signal from out here or were the stand VERY quiet for most of the game?

I think Carpenter is a good pitcher, he went against Roy Halliday in game 5 against the Phillies and shut them out.

Hamilton has 7 RBI's and is currently hitting .267 in the post season. Not exactly tearing it up.
