I still think it is. He will win playoff games if they can sign him cheap enough and find a real ace. Unless you're talking about guys like Halladay, Lee, Felix Hernandez, Verlander - the best of the best, a pitcher's success is going to rely just as much on how well he pitches as how well his opponent pitches.

        • CJ doesn't lose games for the Rangers. He typically allows 2-3 runs through 6-7 innings. The bats just don't show up when he plays for some reason. I am glad though, that he probably won't be starting for the rest of the series.

Thank you Baby Jesus for all that you've given to the Rangers.

          • And I still don't like the douche. I wouldn't be upset if they find a suitable replacement for him and he watches the next 20 years of Rangers playoff games on his 70" TV, but he's a big part of why they're here, and even in his bad games, he's pitched well enough to keep them in it.

That's because (in the postseason) he's pitching against the other team's best pitcher. And there's no doubt about it, he won't be starting again this season.

What does that have to do with his performance? Look at when Cliff Lee was on the team last year? Other than against S.F. the bats always showed up to support him. Now...yes, Lee is a better pitcher than Wilson, but defense and offense are two different beasts. Especially with baseball.

We should be able to score more than 1 run on a regular basis.
Colby generally plays much better on the road because he is fly ball pitcher, and Arlington is NOT friendly to fly ball pitchers. Thats why he was the #3 guy in the rotation against the Tigers and #2 against the Cards. I think we have the pitching/momentum advantage in game 6 but apparantly momentum means nothing in this series haha

Going back to cold weather...I don't know. However, the momentum is definitely with the Rangers at this point. Lewis is a beast. His control is amazing. I don't really know how managers think but if Lewis starts, the bring Holland in to relieve him, and if need-be Feliz to finish it.

I'm not sure how pitching works in the pros but that seems like a fucking win to me.

Well that would be possible with Holland have 3 days rest but pitchers historically are not as good on 3 days rest. Plus, if we lost we would no longer have Holland for game 7.

Our bullpen is a huge reason we are where we are right now, I say trust them to get the job done when Lewis gets out. And yes Lewis is stone cold under pressure!

You said the bats don't generally show up to give him support when he pitches. That's because the other team starts their best pitcher to match him, not just some random coincidence or (totally) because the team can't stand the douche.

So is Wilson the problem or is it the batting?

The problem is Wilson he gets very erratic under pressure and gets his pitch count very high...so that is Wilson's problem. Not an Ace but a very good pitcher.

The problem is that they're having to use Wilson as a #1 starter, when he isn't one.
