Kinsler and Napoli hold more responsibility. The umpire made a horrible call, but Kinsler had plenty of time to make a good throw. That cost 1 run. Napoli rushed and made a terrible throw when he had plenty of time to setup and make a good throw, and that cost 2 runs.
Fuck that logic.
There are at least a half dozen officials on that field. Placing blame on a poorly thrown ball doest not give the official carte blanch to make a wrong call.
That's like saying it's ok to break into a car because the owner left a purse in plain view.

I have no mercy. That fucking dude has 1 damn job in the world. He stares at a fucking base and waits to see if a guy touches it. That is his whole job. I do 100x time shit on a daily basis without screwing anything up. He has that 1 job and he fucks it up. Absolutely no fucking excuse.

Ever umpired? There's no excuse, but it happens. The plays happen quickly, you're limited to one vantage point, and you have to rely on sound for most of the close plays. You've taken away the vantage point, the sound, and you're now dealing with two moving players in that situation; inexcusable, but understandable.

The call was horrible. But did the umpire give up the base hits that followed? Did he make the bad throw to home?
The players are still responsible for executing.

This. If you make the routine play you don't have to rely on the umpire's judgement.

If I was that employee, I would expect to get my ass handed to me and/or fired for fucking up on a stage as big as this. If I was his superior, I would rip his shit clean off, and how he reacted would judge if he had a job or not.

Make the right call and the game goes on. You cannot tell me the complexion of the game stayed exactly the same after that call.

I agree with this a lot. Bad call yes, would we like to have it back, yes. But execution after that wasn't there.
All of the mentions of instant re-play on those kinds of things. Could you imagine how long the games would last? Also, if you are going to introduce that, you might as well do away with the calls at the plate and use a pitch tracker
